    Hunting on National Trust land

Pre-ban, when all forms of hunting were legal, the Trust only banned Staghunting -and that was very controversial in the 90's.

    Hunting on National Trust land

It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Why on earth would they not allow a traditional and legal activity to be carried out on their land? In addition to the conservation benefits hunting provides, it must be remembered that much of the Trust's land was deliberately gifted by landowners on the...

vote on hunting after the next election

Shouldn't be a priority but I'm sure a subtle dismantling of the Act can be achieved. And would be the right thing to do.

vote on hunting after the next election

Agreed. Quick, one line bill. "The Hunting Act 2004 is hereby repealed in all its parts".

vote on hunting after the next election

No. It delivered an illiberal law that actively damages animal welfare. And all so a few MP's could shout 'revenge for the miners' and vote for War in Iraq... Little did they know (or care) hunting was very popular in Mining communities...

vote on hunting after the next election

Nothing new - it was in the manifesto in 2005 and 2010, and 2015 too. It obviously can't be a priority right now but righting wrongs is still the right thing to do.

    Cheshire Hunt this weekend

It's disgraceful and motivated by pure hatred for people. It should be recognised for what it is - totally unlawful and unacceptable urban terrorism.

I don't think they really believe that, but it is a convenient justification. The law doesn't matter to them. They were doing this long before the ban. Given their treatment of hounds, horses and their fellow man, I struggle to believe they are animal lovers. As I say, many of these people are...

    Cheshire Hunt this weekend

Because they don't care about animals- they resent the people involved. This is why bloodhound meets have been sabbed, hunt balls targeted, etc.

    Cheshire Hunt this weekend

If I was being followed, harassed, potentially attacked and threatened by violent animal rights extremists trying to find out where I lived etc I'd consider wearing a mask around them! Remember the very serious violence that has been meted out by the animal rights movement. Essentially urban...

    Cheshire Hunt this weekend

Because hunting is banned, foxes can no longer be managed in a selective, natural and humane way. Accordingly many farmers, landowners and gamekeepers will only let the hunt trail hunt on their land if they can arrange pest control -otherwise they don't see the point. Accordingly many hunts have...

    Cheshire Hunt this weekend

Clearly we can't be sure what happened here. In general however it is very difficult to call hounds off when animal rights extremists are deliberately calling them on, which they have been known to do.

    Anyone had a similar experience?

Certainly not ok, and hopefully you will get an apology soon. That said, perhaps there was some confusion/misunderstanding about which walkway/field entrance you were asking them to use? I can't imagine a hunt would (literally) go out of its way to upset you.

Where have all the hirelings gone

Why do you think that is?
