    Argo Stablemate Supplement

Does anyone feed this? I can't seem to find a nutritional breakdown anywhere. I'm trying to find a general purpose supplement that doesn't break the bank (but equally, there's no point feeding something if it's full of fillers/sawdust!!!).

    Horse hunting

No personal experience but CnG Equine seems to have some really lovely types. They are extremely popular (their horses don't stick around for very long!) and have great reviews. They have a group on Facebook if you search for them.

Recommendations for cheap and cheerful vit & min powder?

Codlivine is reasonably priced and people have said their horses look well on it (could just be from the oil in it making their coats shiny though!). Some people aren't keen on the idea of feeding horses fish oils though. They do one with an in-built joint supplement as well which I think is a...

    bit ideas

If you're not keen on the idea of a stronger mouthpiece maybe try and find a dutch gag with a French link mouthpiece? Only thing is it can encourage them to raise their heads so if raising his head is part of his evasion technique then a gag probably wouldn't suit!

    Dressage saddle for wide cob?

I love the fit of a Farrington on a cob. The wide panels and generous gullet suit the cob shape very well imo.

Best joint supplement for advanced arthritis?

I'll voice my concerns but I'm 99% sure the owner will not get the vet out for him. Don't want to go into too much detail on here though. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll look into them. So long as I pay for supplements those who feed him will add it to his feed every day. It's not an...

Tips to help child sit down in canter?

I used to do this (still slip into it occasionally) as I was taught to ride on such lazy horses I'd find myself leaning forward in an attempt to 'rev them up'! I had a lesson with an instructor who told me to take the reins into one hand and lift my other arm as high above my head as I could...

Best joint supplement for advanced arthritis?

The 22 year old pony I used to ride, and now care for once a week, has had arthritis in his hocks for a good few years. It's been getting steadily worse, and now he struggles badly with the small slope he has to negotiate every time he's brought in from the field. Sometimes, his walk is more of...

    Shires Westropp Knee Brushing Boots

Nooo! So disappointed to hear this. Have had my eye on these boots for ages and always planned to buy some as soon as I buy my first horse (which won't be for a few years yet as I'm wanting to finish uni first). Would snap up a pair now for safe keeping if only I knew what size my future horse...

    Totally cobs

Subbing because I'd also be interested in what people have to say (not that I'm looking, but I like to keep in the loop for when the time comes :D)

When do you decide the time is right to buy a horse?

Another thing to consider is the possibility that if you buy a horse while you're still very novicey, would you be willing to sell it and buy another if you ever come to find you have outgrown the horse you bought ability-wise. If I had bought a horse straight away as soon as I started wanting...

    Mallenders - best treatment?

At the moment I'm thinking I'll wash in T-Gel once a week to get rid of any sort of build-up that may have occurred and apply a moisturising cream of some sorts (now thinking Vaseline?) 4 times a week (can't do more than that as he's only loaned out 4 days a week and on his non-loaning days I...

    Mallenders - best treatment?

My PL cob has got a touch of mallenders. The affected area has been clipped off. I've been reading past threads but the variety of treatments people use is mind boggling! It seems everyone has their own way of treating it! To hand I have HibiScub and T-Gel - which do I use? Could I use both...
