We were looking for a rescue dog and their name came up but have read some awful stories about them on Facebook. I wasn’t particularly aware that they also rehomed horses.
I have read all comments with interest. Can anyone who has gone ahead with surgery advise what kind of cost the surgery was and also how long the horses were on box rest for? One of mine would not cope well with box rest. Thanks
Hello, have had horses for years and changed to a new weedkiller this year on advise of salesman. Has anyone that has used Envy weedkiller had a behaviour change from their horses? One of my girls was almost like an athlete on drugs and I couldn't get near her for 3 days after coming off field...
My arena surface is about 8 years old and is a proper wood chip surface which was small chips. Its is needing replaced/ topped up with something as is deep in places and slippy. I have been given 6 trailer loads of wood/ bark chips from fallen trees. I wasn't keen to use this as some of the bits...
My tb x id mare has always been quite a fussy eater but now won't eat any feed which has nuts/ pellets in it. She 'filters' them out and just eats the Alfa. I have tried 4 different feeds in 4 weeks and am now feeding Dodson and Horrell pasture mix and taking out as many nuts/ pellets as I can...
I have got my own insurance but there was an incident at a very well used local venue where their negligence caused damage to other people's property. I suspect that they don't have liability insurance. I have also heard of a xc venue that doesn't have insurance. Would you check before going...
What are people's thoughts on competing at/ using venues that don't have insurance? Also, would riding clubs etc check if a venue has insurance before using it?
The last 2 years have been really rough, I lost my dad and this week a friend who has been ill for some time. I used to compete quite regularly and up to intermediate be, medium dressage and quite a bit of sj but over the last few years have hardly been out. I have really forced myself this...
My mare has soft, fluidy type swelling on the outside of both hocks. She is not lame and not bothered when I press them. I think it thoroughpin but may be too low for that as in a pretty straight line between the point of hock and front of hock where it bends. Does anyone have any ideas?
Yeah, good luck to the loaner getting paid out for the horses death - if her name isn't on the passport as the owner it wont get paid - you can't claim for something you don't own unless there is a legal contract (bits of paper with a signature don't count).
I have also had problems getting breastplates to fit my horses. I bought a 'one size fits all' Townend one and it was always awful on my 15.2 and doesn't really fit the 17hh either. I also have a cob size (can't remember what kind) and I just can't get it to fit the 15.2, as above it is too...
I totally agree with Brightbay - some of you actual horse lovers should stay in the group to offer some actual, real advice (I'm not on facebook) and maybe some of it will sink in.
