I don't think Dauntsey have run an intro before... (recent history anyway)?
I did run the PN a couple of years ago and it was a lovely big bold galloping course but nothing tricksy as far I can recall - nice and straightforward. It has 2 river crossings, which are fine providing it hasn't...
The ground at Bicton was good a couple of weeks back, but it hasn't rained here since. It did get very hard during the middle of last summer, though I'm quite sure they will spike it if necessary.
Also, we have rain forecast for the weekend - I work for the MetOffice - so I'm fully expecting...
Looking at the Mount Ballan schedule, the dressage has been moved to grass and the SJ to the arena this year. I haven't been before, but am planning to to the novice this year.
Sorry Shrek... I think you slightly missed the point of the OP's post.
I agree that if the kids want to compete that's fine, but there shouldn't be any distinction in terms of prizes - you choose to compete against adults, then you should compete on a a level platform.
If you don't want to...
All good advice above,
MY eventer has a long, thin mane (can't bear to pull it, but 'tis acceptable for a morgan anyway I tell myself :o) ). Bands look awfully bulky and tend to fall out so I always sew.
My tip is to thread the needle to half way along your thread, and tie the 2 ends...
Thanks, I had considered ringworm - some scabs are certainly round, but others are not. It all looked a little better today - I say better - mottled pink where the scabs were! Still sufficient scabs for me to talk to the vet. It now seems the whole yard wants the vet out for various reasons...
I have a 12yo gelding who in the 7 years I'e had him has had almost no veterinary issues (lucky me!) to speak of.
All through this summer, however he's been begging me to scratch in and around his sheath area - which obviously puts him into absolute ecstasy - my partner has taken to calling...
Quite possibly - I haven't actually seen the Stockland Lovell 80cm course, but I doubt you'll find it any smaller! Bicton don't run a BE80 - they're restarting with BE this year after a couple of years absence, but only with BE90 and BE100 classes. I suspect it was built to BE standard though.
Bicton is lovely - the new Willis Bros course is now in it's second year with new fences built over the winter. You'll definitely find it up to height, but it rides beautifully - the sandy ground gives good ground in all weathers. The track is rolling hilly - nothing too steep but certainly...
Another vote for the CO Fiona... MUCH nicer than the showjumper XP, and cheaper too i think. It's not got the PAS 15 mark, but does have the lower standard mark, but suits me for BE dressage.
Bicton is lovely... all four really nice courses are up to height. Emma Vine's done a great job with getting it all up and running over the last 18months - I think she also organises the PC teams for the EDHPC running the ODE on the 13th so all should run smoothly. Be warned though - that PC...
This was our first attempt at novice, and from my earlier pleas in CR you might guess that I fully expected to have to retire at the water :)
The day did not start well... pony came in from the field so wet and muddy he needed a bath :( Not having planned for this I still managed to plait...
Oh, and no I don't wear it for show jumping. No better reason than I dont wear a BP at all for show jumping. An awful habit I'm trying to convince myself to stop!
If you have issues about how pretty you're going to look then it's not the BP for you. See the difference between SJ and "after...
