I have my first ridden show in a few weeks on my loan horse. I have pretty much got an idea for an individual show, but do I need to include canter? Her canter can be a bit wobbly and she has a cheeky tendency to strike off on the wrong leg! The show schedule doesn't specify.
Thank you!
Hi everyone!
I am starting to get into showing (especially ridden) and I plan in a few weeks to do my second ever show with my current mare (we had a great time at our first one getting 1st and 3rd!)
I am wanting to do a ridden class, and have decided to do a 'Novice Shower (rider not to...
Does anyone know of any good and well priced horse box/trailer hire companies based in Hampshire?
If so, please can you link the website below please?
Thanks!
I have got my first show with Tia on Sunday, and do I have to wear a hat for In-Hand? I am just doing a Prettiest Mare class, to get into showing!
Thank You in advance!
The issues I have with Tia is that she doesn't like to be caught when she's in season! Perhaps it looks 'cool' infront of the boys! XD Also she can be a pain around the geldings always needing to go and see them - but that's normal!
I really struggle putting Tia in to classes. She is 19 (Does do Veteran) and a Cob.
However, if we put her in a Cob/Cob Type class she never places. Then, if she's up against all the other posh show horses she rarely places.
A judge once said 'She's an odd one really. She is too fine boned...
Sounds fine to me! I am doing the same class (Prettiest mare) and I am just putting her in her normal bridle and I'm wearing a black jacket, white shirt, yellow spotted tie, beige jodhpurs and black boots. It is a good idea to wear gloves and definitely wear a hat.
Thank you all. I am going to practice our show tomorrow. Perhaps I will try MagicMelon's suggestion as Tia can get a bit bored with a lot of trotting!!!
I am off to my first show with Tia, and I am doing either the Novice Showing (Ridden) or Novice Handler (In Hand) and have a few questions:
1. Would I get away with a black jacket in both? (This is at local level)
2. For an Individual show (Ridden) would something along these lines be ok...
I would love to have a go at showing with my mare Tia. Only locally mind you, perhaps once or twice depending on how she goes!
The thing is, I have no idea what to wear. I would like to do In hand with her, or veteran showing (again in hand). I really don't want to splash out on a full on...
Currently prepping Sunday roast, and I have some vegetables I'm wondering if can give them to Tia? I have some cauliflower leaves and a few pieces of broccoli and the stalk left over. Can she have these?
He only has these as treats. He is quite fussy so we were advised by the vet to have him on his dry biscuit with either chicken or a little bit of cheese to make it a bit more exciting.
