What is the most comfortable riding hat?

I have a rounder shaped head and there's only a few styles that seem to fit me. I love my Gatehouse HS1 and Charles Owen Ayrbrush but I have this one in their round fit. See if you can try on some that are specifically for rounder heads.

Hacking/hill work and polework bareback - would you?

For hacking it depends on how steep the hill is and how slippy your horse's coat is! On some steeper parts out hacking previously I've felt myself sliding back and my thigh muscles burning to keep me in place! I'd recommend a neck strap so you can always grab onto that rather than the reins. A...

Very basic, non-elastic girth here: https://www.shiresequestrian.com/horse/saddlery/girths/burghley-girth

    Pony grackle bridle

There is a Shires Avignon Grackle Bridle which is not a mexican grackle and comes in pony size: https://www.shiresequestrian.com/horse/saddlery/bridles/avignon-grackle-bridle is that what you're looking for without the metal rings? Leather is decent quality for the price.

    Bridle bags

I like my Shires one - it's padded and they do a single or double version.

    Your Horse Live?

I went for the first time this year. Went on Saturday and arrived around 12pm - no issues parking and got a free shuttle right to the entrance. Really enjoyed the demos, was a bit worried about getting a seat as only had a standard ticket but managed to see everything I wanted. Popular show but...

    Sponsorship

I would definitely look at smaller businesses and places like your local tack shop. I work for a fairly large equestrian company and we receive sponsorship requests every day. We tend to look for well established riders competing at quite a high level although have taken on mid level riders with...

    People with short legs?

I struggle with this too! I'm currently liking my pair of Tredstep Rosa Symphony breeches. They're knee patch ones and come in all the classic colours.

Free Gatehouse Hat, Hope Valley Saddlery

Thank you! Probably won't be too good a fit on my very round head then!

Free Gatehouse Hat, Hope Valley Saddlery

Anyone know how the fit compares between the HS1 and Conquest MKII? I have a HS1 which fits great but fixed peak hats tend not to sit well on my round head!

    Opinion here on Polo?

I played polo whilst at uni and absolutely loved it - it's vey addictive! However, I worked as a polo groom in Australia and hated it. I was underpaid and overworked but all the ponies were lovely. They know their job and are used to being handled as part of a group. I would ride and lead up...

Orange horse does XC schooling at Tweseldown

He looks fab! Didn't seem phased by any of those more technical fences. Hope you don't get balloted out of Hambleden and good luck for Badders!

Breeches for the short and curvy

Hi all, I've been on the lookout for some breeches as have always previously worn jodhpurs and am just finding them all far too long for my little legs! I'm 5ft 4'' and a 12/14 so any recommendations would be great! Preferably not too expensive, but happy to pay for some flattering ones that...
