    Horse Transport Recommendations

I need to take my mare to the vet clinic but recently sold my box, so need to arrange transport. Can anyone recommend a transport company near Newbury, Berkshire? Thanks

    Sesamoidean ligament injury

Thank you, it is encouraging to hear another success story! Mine also isn’t doing any box rest, but is going straight out in a small paddock. I will speak to my vet about Indiba treatment and see if he thinks it would be beneficial for my mare. May I ask where your physio is based?

    Sesamoidean ligament injury

@Julia0803 thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It is really helpful to read your journey and I am glad that you managed to get your boy sound again. I have been through the emotional rollercoaster that is rehab a couple of times before so I know how tough, and heartbreaking, it can...

    Sesamoidean ligament injury

Thank you, it is good to hear that there is some hope for a full recovery then. I want to give her the best possible chance, so fully prepared for the long and slow rehab 👍🏻

    Sesamoidean ligament injury

My horse has recently been diagnosed with oblique sesamoidean ligament injury via MRI and ultrasound. Prognosis is guarded at this point. Has anyone else had a horse with this type of injury? Did they return to ridden work?

    Just ticklish or something else

Just looking to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar, as I can’t decide if I’m overthinking it and looking for something that isn’t there or not. So little bit of background - my mare is generally okay to clip, little bit ticklish around her flank but no more so than other...

    HELP - Clipping Disaster!!

He doesn’t look nearly as bad as I was imagining. Give it a week or so and it’ll be fine. Quite a few years ago I got half way through clipping my pony when the blades completely gave up. I was meant to be competing the next day and couldn’t get hold of any blades or clippers in the interim...

    Combo or hood attachment

I can’t remember what brand it was, but I had one with the velcro attachments 3/4yrs ago and that was terrible for letting the rain in. It’s one of the reasons I’ve stuck to combos most recently but I do like the idea of having more flexibility with a separate hood and being able to change the...

    Combo or hood attachment

Thanks everyone. Interesting those of you that have mentioned the mane rubbing as this is something I want to minimise as much as possible and I thought a standard rug with hood might be there than a combo but seems not

    Combo or hood attachment

I need to buy a couple more turnout rugs ahead of winter but undecided on whether to go for a combo or one with separate hood. My current turnouts are all combos but I like the look of the Amigo Bravo which has a separate hood. My only worry is the rain getting in. For those of you who with the...

    Which bit?

Thank you all for your thoughts. She’s currently just in a single joint, which I don’t think she minds, but she is a senstive type and does have quite a petite mouth so I am going to try a NS eggbutt with a lozenge and see how she goes. Has anyone found a huge difference between the horses...

    Which bit?

Having tried a couple of bits it seems my little mare does not like a loose ring. Unfortunately I don’t have any dressage legal bits that aren’t loose ring in her size As I’ll be buying new I just wondered what people would suggest as a starting point. She’s currently ridden in a loose ring...
