    Norweigan Fjord

We have one where I work who has the funniest, cheekiest attitude. She is pretty forward and great fun but I wouldn't say mad. She's brilliant!

    Long boot recommendations?

Thanks – I like Bromonts but will find some Regents to try on as they’re cheaper. I've also had some of the Saxon ones before and they weren't a success.

    Long boot recommendations?

Can anyone recommend any long leather boots that aren’t horrendously expensive but are smart enough for exams and local shows. I have size 7 feet and quite fat calves. :O thanks.

    any Trent Park riders?

Just thought I'd ask on the off chance as I've been told the names of some horses that typically do the stage one and cheekily thought someone might be able to give me the lowdown on them, as I have my exam on Monday. I've met Bob, Ben and Brodie, but was also told Toby and Bilbo were likely to...

    Racing debate

I have to present an argument for critical thinking at school: 'Horseracing shoud be banned'. The thing is, I can think of plenty of things to say individually about types of racing e.g. flat racing or the grand national, but not reasons which apply to all kinds of racing. I'm meant to be...

Councils checking out helpers at riding schools ^ (in news above)

There's a news story linked to above saying that councils in Berkshire are spot-checking all riding schools to make sure they aren't employing children without work permits. Apparently even if you only get rides you're meant to have one, which wasn't my understanding. I'm 16 now so I don't know...

    Any Oxford based people!

You could PM JessieM – she may not want the help herself but she’s on a really nice, quite big yard where she might know someone who does!

    People from Germany/Austria/Switzerland...

anywhere German speaking basically. Just wondered if anyone knew of a riding centre/stud farm which would take on a 17 year old for some summer work. It can't really be this year now, but easter or summer holidays next year. I have lots of experience with horses and have taught riding, but at...

    GCSE music exam

Apparently it was a photocopying error which meant the list of tracks on the CD was on the back of the paper, so it wasn't literally the answers but useful information which was more or less the answers, like names of composers etc. only OCR though so it didn't happen at our school.

14year olds working at local stables

I could be wrong but I think work for rides is fine, it's only if they're paid that the regulations apply. Then yes, there's a system of work permits, max 5 hours a day, 2 hours on a Sunday and no more than 25 hours a week. However I don't think I've ever been to a yard that followed those...

Badminton is back to being the worlds No1

How often do you clean your tack....be honest!!!!

I work at a yard where we clean all the tack every day...I now think it feels so nice to put clean tack on a horse that if I ever get my own I can't see myself doing it any less!
