My mare kept on getting rubs/cuts to both corners of her mouth, even after hacking steadily.
I have discovered that the bit was slightly wide and have been using rubber bit guards. This has totally stopped the problem even when she takes a good hold across country.
Hi everyone,
Am planning on entering my 6 yr old novice mare for these Hunter Trials on May 10th. My question is, does anyone know what the fences will be like? Are there ditches etc and is there a water complex?
I have hunted my mare all winter and she jumps well, but I am not sure whether...
Hi all,
We had a fab day out hunting at the weekend but i was mortified to find that Carly had cuts to the corners of her mouth at the end of the day.
She is hunted in hanging cheek snaffle and normally has no problems or discomfort, however she did pull like a steam train on Saturday and our...
I used to use no 4 and they were very good, then our local feed merchant stopped stocking them as they are v expensive. They now have their own brand of conditioning cube which is much cheaper and in my opinion does the same job - CWG equiclub conditioning cubes.
Hi everyone, I am lucky to be being bought a new riding hat for my birthday next week.
What are everybody's recommendations?
I do a bit of everything and want something with an interchangable cover.
thanks?
Will do, my mare is a big bay with white blaze and white stockings.
We got blue Ifor and silver Isuzu - I will be on my own with my horse bitch!! (other half) who is bald and very good natured!!!
C U there x x
I hunt with Readyfield and they cover Nottinghamshire and north Leicestershire.
There is always a second field master for those who do not want to jump and most days are advertised as OJD (optional jumping day).
Most lines do not go over 3ft 6 (and I most certainly do not either!!)
I always go...
Is anyone going this Saturday?
It is a fantastic meet, loads of great jumps and a real fun day out.
Carly is now clipped and poshed up in preparation, she is a big, fit, shiny muscle!!! and i can't wait!!!!!
Yes i always go hunting fully tacked up with leather headcollar over bridle for tying onto.
She doesn't get hay on the way there, only back home when she is just in her headcollar.
It's not always convenient (nor easy) to tack up an excited 17hh horse at a meet!!!
Try Central Wool Growers (CWG) own brand - equiclub. They do mixes and cubes, conditioning and high fibre (apparantly made by D and H but labelled for CWG) They also do a mollassed chaff which is very similar to mollichop.
All much much cheaper. My mare thrived on them last year.
