My mare has the same problem. I just wipe with a baby wipe and cover the whole area in Naf off extra effect gel :)

Also in veterinary ..... It is suspected that my horse has the above she's only 6 and I'm worried sick! Got the vet coming first thing tomorrow and wondered if any of you had experienced this with your own horses? I can't find much info about it. Thanks

I am curious to find out exactly how old my horse is as her passport states DOB 'unkown'. It seemed unimportant when i bought her as she was the dream happy hacker that i had spent months searching for! The lady I bought her off said she was 7 and looking at her history this probably adds up...

I've only had my mare 2 months and she is barefoot. I had the farrier out the day after she arrived who commented on how good her feet are. She now has a couple of cracks that I have been keeping a close eye on, so do I feed her a hoof supplement or is the dry weather and hard ground to blame...
