Help! Laminitic and Oldie sharing field - what to feed?

Thanks for this. I will ask my field companion's owner if she will muzzle her laminitic. I think that's a very good idea, thanks. I was reading about copra cool stance only last night when I was reading up on what to give my oldie. Will make enquiries for stockists.

Help! Laminitic and Oldie sharing field - what to feed?

I have an old pony losing condition. I want to get some condition back on him before winter. The problem is that he shares a field with a laminitic, therefore we restrict their grazing. He used to be a good doer, but as he's aged he drops condition quicker. They both share last year's hay fed...

The best way to have a horse put to sleep?

My old showjumper was sedated, led into a lorry with a feed then shot by a knackerman without even realising what was happening. He thought he was going off to a show. It was really calm, quick and very professionaL. I cried of course but I feel that it was the least stressful method all round.

    Credit Crunch....getting scary now!!

I went to my local feed merchants this morning only to find it had gone bust! I spoke to the owners who told me that their suppliers would only now deliver to business with large orders. Mostly to do with lack of confidence, fuel costs etc. A victim of the credit crunch

Thank goodness Ellie doesn't have Navicular however she has.....

When mine went down with laminitis, the farrier put 'lilypads' on his two lame feet taped on with gaffer tape. The vet advised putting him on a deep bed of shavings, shutting him in a yard about 20 feet by 20 feet covered in woodchip, giving him a couple of slices of 12 - 24 hour soaked hay and...

    Mud Fever & no stables.....

my horse lives out 24/7 with a field shelter for protection from the elements. He used to get mud fever but not anymore. I plastered his lower legs in Sudocrem to heal the scabs and added Naf Mud Gard powder to his daily feed. He hasn't had mudfever for 2 years now, even though we've had all...

Contact Lenses for horses with eye ulcers

Yeah, here it is www.guardianmask.com Our horse wore it when she was suffering from equine recurring uveitis. We spent £3,000 in vet bills and 3 months of applying ointments, applying drugs through a tube attached to her mane - a lavage i think it was called. Sadly we lost the battle for her...

Best chaff for laminitic/ fussy eater

Both mine fed on Happy Hoof as it's approved by the Laminitis Trust. Just over £9.00 a sack here, and so simple to feed as it has all the vitamins and minerals included already. Both horses love it!

    Over to You's retirement ceremony

Yes, I saw that. They interviewed Jeannette Brakewell about shoes and studs in Over To You's stable. Not a word about his wonderful career or that he was being retired that day. I thought Jeannette looked a bit peeved that it wasn't mentioned.

We advertise our manure in our local paper in the Free Ads. We bag it up into rubble sacks (from 99p shop) then sell it to allotments and local gardeners. It is the right time of year to advertise now. If you're prepared to deliver it you will get lots of interest and orders. We ask £1.00 a bag...
