I've never heard of them. I'll have a look online......

    Balancers...

One of mine is on Bluechip and I think it's really good. He loves it and looks really well (and hasn't gone loopy). The other 2 are very good doers so I have thought about the "diet" version but haven't tried it yet...

    Feed Advice!

Please can someone recommend something to help with a very gassy pony? He is windy all year round but worse in the spring / summer. I tried fennel but he wouldn't eat it. Any ideas of something else to help bloating and wind??

    Prolite Girth based on Fairfax

I hope he'll like it - it's difficult to know as I've only had him for 2 months and it's equally possible that he's just trying me out a bit!!

    Prolite Girth based on Fairfax

I got one for Christmas and pony 2 doesn't seem to like it at all. Well, not sure if it's the girth but he's being a bit of a git the last twice I've schooled him and that's the only thing that's changed - sorry to hijack thread but has anyone else experienced their horse not going as well with...

    Opinions on Equipe saddles

I tried a dressage one and my mare went very nicely in it but I found it very uncomfortable - it seemed very hard?

    Saddles...!

Perhaps try an older Jeffries Falcon event saddle? My retired old lady sounds a similar shape and that's what she has. I love that saddle, so comfy and fitted us both so well and I always felt really secure. Whereabouts in Scotland are you? If anywhere near me you could have a shot of it if...

    Need feedback asap

I HATE neoprene!!!!! Maybe I'm just particularly sweaty but every pair of neoprene lined wellies I have had leave me with damp feet and calfs. This doesn't happen in normal shoes / boots so I'm not a total freak (I don't think?). I have spent a lot of money on "breathable" neoprene wellies and...

    Resurfacing an arena???

Now if I HAD £40k + VAT that would be lovely. Might just need to leave it be for a while longer...... :)

    Resurfacing an arena???

It gets really boggy and deep at one end. I didn't put it in originally so I'm not sure about how good the drainage was but there are drains and I always thought they were just blocked. The other end is fine. Hmmm, I'll need to do some investigating. It's just an idea just now, I don't have £18k...

    Resurfacing an arena???

Thanks for that. Yes similar level of use required. Hmmm might just look at what you did and clear the drains out ourselves. They're just filled with surface. £3k - £4k is a lot more appealing than £18k - eek!!!

    Resurfacing an arena???

Can someone give me a very rough idea of the costs of putting down a new surface in an old outdoor arena (20 x 40). The drains need to be dug out and a new surface laid (possibly mixed with the existing rubber?) Has anyone had something similar done recently. Don't require a top of the range...

Are horses in general gettinig bigger?

I think there are more horses on yards over 16hh because breeds like warmbloods are popular (and have been for a while). When I was young I didn't know ANYONE with a warmblood, now most people I know have one, and they tend to be quite tall (although not always before anyone says they have a...

    Rebuilding trust - any courses?

Hi all, not been here for ages but looking for some insider knowledge of short riding holidays. Friend has lost her trust in her horse and wants to keep him but this doesn't look likely as he is VERY tricky and, to be frank, she is scared. He is not nasty or naughty but he worries and stops...

    Taking horse to university?

I would just like to say that I had my pony through university - 250miles from home in DIY livery and I achieved a 1st class honours law degree!! I got up at 5.30am and saw to her before classes and I believe she kept me sane during my finals. I worked in the riding school attached to the yard 2...
