How did you learn to use your core?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Core-Strength-Training/dp/140937923X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1412977572&sr=1-1&keywords=core+strength+training Crunches are definitely for the abs. They do still make up your core but are only a small part of it. I've been meaning to get this book for ages! My...

How did you learn to use your core?

This is very true and something I neer knew before I started core/gym work properly. Everyone has a 'six pack' or abdominal muscles, even though in most people you can't see them. It only becomes visible when you reach a certain body fat percentage (i.e. quite a low body fat percentage). As they...

How did you learn to use your core?

hmmm yeh it doesn't help that I'm only riding once a week again! I was thinking of looking into getting some lunge lessons or schoolmaster lessons so I can work on myself a bit more. It just doesn't come naturally to me so I have to work at it. Hopefully the pilates classes will help things...

How did you learn to use your core?

My core strength used to be diabolical/non-existent a few years back, which really showed in my riding. For the past year or so I've been really working hard on improving my core strength. It's improved by a huge amount in the last 12 months, which is even more noticeable as I had my appendix...

Finding a suitable shaer ... Asking the impossible?

OP please move to Colchester, he's just the type I'm looking for! I've found it really hard to find a share close to me that ticks all of the right boxes. They all seem to be in the Essex/London border area, or the horse/share arrangement isn't quite what I'm looking for (e.g. horse a little...

How to develop a really, really good seat - advice please?

OP have you ever tried a seat saver? I have one for my share horse, which I have found very useful when she's in a spooky mood. Mostly the odd spin she does out hacking isn't too bad but occassionally she take me by surprise, and I think mine definitely keeps me in a good position when she...

    Dilemma

For any other horse I would stop the other share, but I love her to bits. She's taken me from just out of a riding school to jumping some BS this year. We have a great bond now, I trust her 100% , I can take her out by herself for 3 hours and feel totally confident. I guess I was just very lucky...

    Dilemma

Thanks, sorry Sugar_and_spice just re-read and realised I hadn't actually said what I wanted advice on! Just whether to continue with the share or not really. Some good advice though thank-you. I did think about using treats but didn't want to encourage the biting. I had bought some honeyto put...

    Dilemma

Sorry if this is long! I don't really post with things like this but I'm really not sure what to do. Bit of background. I've been part loaning a lovely mare for almost 3 years now, but she is stabled 50 miles away and so I was only riding once a week. I wanted to ride more often so thought I...

    Tredstep Da Vinci boots

Damn, sounds like they will be too long for me :( if I get a 5 the leg length if 17 3/4 which probably be too long even when they drop. Yes saw them on hope valley, cheapest yet nicest pair I've found so far but don't want the hassle of sending them back if they don't fit.

    Who's going to Burghley?

Yeh I ha a look a the map and what shops there are, and have to say I was disappointed, they do all seem to be 'country living' type shops, which is a shame. I'm looking for a Uvex hat or possibly the gatehouse conquest so glad they stock the uvex there, not sure about other things I'm looking...

    Tredstep Da Vinci boots

Does anoyone have a pair? Just found some at a really good price and I love the look of them but not sure about sizing. Went to try on some long boots a week ago and I seem to be between a regular and short length wise. I'm usually about a 5.5 shoe size with wide feet but can end up with...
