I haven't cantered before but I trot over poles and steer and stuff. I'm pretty much a novice.

Well of course you'll get better! Maybe he is just a really energetic horse. Perhaps you should lunge him or something, to get rid of some of that energy

You need to be 9-14 years old and under 5 foot 1.

Reward your horse ever time he picks up his feet nicely.

Hmm... Try hacking him out on a daily basis and give him a reward every time he loads nicely or behaves on the hacks. Hope it helped!
