That's not what I meant to say. I meant to say that the training centre will have a trailer you can borrow.
I used APEX training and found them to be very good!
And yes used my own car, however there are some training centres where you use theirs.
Find someone who owns a caravan who can...
Don't panic!
I got my test in April this year. Had 2 days training as was very lucky to have a friend with access to an RAF base and time to give me lessons on reversing.
Also I think most test centres get you to use your own car and borrow their trailer if you don't have one. Its also...
My cob cross is terrified of them. Involves spinning at a rate of knots and then charging in the direction we have just come from.
Attempted the gently gently approach - ended up 1 step forward and 10 back at pace. Even tried getting off and leading past them. Did not help! In the end had to...
Firstly I would like to say why do people assume that cobs are calm!! This really really annoys me.
I own a coloured cob cross mare who is far from calm! Which brings me onto my next soap box. We currently compete at Open level endurance (yes a cob!) and are managing to do the pace no problem...
Sudacrem all the way. She takes fly masks off so they don't help, she just finds the nearest tree and leaves it on the tree.
I also don't like to see them with the masks on - put it on the other day and she charged across the field - so not 100% sure what their vision is like with them on...
I've recently upgraded her Slow release feed to the competition variety (same supplier) but surely that wouldn't make that much of a difference. She's only been on it a week and I introduced it gradually, feeding both together for a little bit. (Mainly due to previous feed allergies have to be...
She seems to carry on until she is either ridden or has been turned out for a bit with a friend.
It almost sounds a bit like the mare mentioned above - but I've had her for 6 years so surely she shouldn't be that excited now?
And it has only become noticeable in the last month or so.
She...
She has been on the same yard for 2 years plus and is very happy and settled.
Don't think the shivers and lumps are connected. She was shivering yesterday morning and had no lumps!!
Only mentioned lumps so that no one suggested to rug her heavier.
I think that it may be excitment - anticipation...
My horse seems to be constantly shivering. Can anyone shed any light/ thoughts?
She is not cold!!
She has got quite a think coat and feels warm to the touch, she is fine until she is bought out of her stable and then shivers from head to toe.
I though it was excitment but she is now doing it...
Saw Farrier at weekend and apparently he's been seeing a lot of lumpy horses this year. He didn't mention what colour they were through.
Mine is Skewbald - lumps are most prominent on White bits but also have some on brown patches. Aloe Vera seems to be helping using twice a day. Didn't ride...
Thanks for that. The Aloe Vera seems to be working at the moment. So am applying very liberally twice a day to all the lumps. Already used 1/2 a tub - ordered more.
Washing powder wise we use Eco Balls so no powder.
She is fully clipped so lumps appearing on clipped bits.
Have drastically cut...
I have a cob who is heavily feathered, i normally leave them in the winter. However this winter took all feathers off, decided to fully clip body and legs. Result was a very smart looking horse and very easy to maintain.
Would recomment that course of action to anyone - even managed to get her...
My mare is covered in bumps. First I thought it was something she has eaten as she has had access to a conifer hedge that previously was fenced off.
Therefore kept off pasture for a whole week, lumps got worse couple of days later, in the end had vet out to give Steroid injections. This cleared...
