I have just moved from where we used to live - the traffic and standard of driving is now horrendous, I hardly went on the road at all. I now have my horse at an equine centre with off road riding - will never ride on the road again
Is the hat within the new rules, I have one and I can no longer wear it for competing BD?
I was quite cross as it was expensive and when the rules changed it was illegal. I also would not buy a second hand hat, especially for such a high price.
Managed to get a horse with problems to have loads of lessons with a wonderful trainer, managed to get him over his many issues and compete. Best result 66% at BD medium. Taught him changes with trainer and hope to compete BD Regionals and Petplan next year. Just got to keep him OK! Despite...
Hopefully stringent licensing for horse owners, as discussed with my vet who has seen some horrendous cases, hopefully this will prevent a *certain group* who as we know cannot be discussed from owning and breeding horses. No more riding on roads - too dangerous. With Brexit hopefully removal...
As someone who has done a fair amount of writing for judges over the years I can say:
Privacy no one standing by listening to comments
Weather, rain, wind, hot sun - windscreen wipers, heating, air con
Judge and writer need to communicate and sit comfortably for often quite a long time - 45...
I will be taking my horse to Hampshire in about 6 weeks. My trainer told me that is quite a lot of strangles in the area? I saw on Hampshire Rider FB that one of the vets is having a talk about it. How bad is it? Are the dressage shows still going ahead?
Good luck with that, depends on the council I guess, I live on a 15mph lane - people routinely go at 40mph - the worst offenders are the mummies with their large vehicles at child collection time.
Unfortunately, this is how many kids are brought up now days. They are so over indulged and spoilt they do not know how to behave, it is the parents fault. See it all the time here.
Can you find a yard with a good trainer where he can stay for a couple of months - the staff could school him for you and you both could have lessons with the trainer? This may be expensive but will probably save you accidents in future, you may be happy hackers but both you and the horse need...
I too have had bad experience with local vets. Two in particular who think they know everything - told me there was nothing wrong with him - there was. I now have a very nice young vet, but as others say, I would not let him do joint injections or anything major - he does not have the...
