Looking for a DIY livery yard around Llanelli/Cross Hands area if anyone knows any? Need to move 2 horses asap but finding it difficult to find somewhere other than by word of mouth and I can't ask a lot of people due to the situation, thanks:)
He was in training for racing but didn't make the cut, the owner says he's very athletic but I might get a vetting if I really like him. Definitely will be checking his back legs carefully and seeing how he moves. I wasn't sure about his back but thoroughbreds usually have weird backs so I...
I'll just have to see how he goes free jumping and lunging see if hes got any talent haha. He looks awkward but I put it down to his age, maybe not I'll see how it goes though. Thanks everyone:)
Thanks, I'll see what I think of his hocks but is there anyway I'd be able to tell if he'll grow into it when I see him or is it not worth the risk? Didn't think tbs grew much after 4 so how likely is he to sort himself out? Long cannon bone could be just be that he'll grow more if I'm right not...
I'm hopefully going to see a 3yr old 16.2hh thoroughbred tomorrow and was wondering what other people thought from his ad picture. Buying him for show jumping and possibly eventing later on. I'm not too good with conformation but I think he looks pretty good. Thanks:)
I'm hoping to sign up to BSJA when I get a new horse but I have no idea if its worth it? I dont get how old you have to be to compete for money and if its worth the entry fees and membership in relative to what you would win? I'm not a beginner at show jumping but I've never considered competing...
I have my two on full livery because I'm in college and working a part time job, I still go up everyday and help out on the weekends mucking out all the full livery horses anyway haha
Thanks, he's really intelligent and very relaxed about everything he's done so far (backing, lunging, ect.) and he looks mature for his age so I think he's grown quite well. I'll just see how he is free jumping before I think about buying him and go from there, I'll just make sure he's happy and...
I'm hoping to buy a 3 and a half year old to bring on to show jump at maybe BSJA but I'm confused at when to start jumping and how high to jump? It's my only worry with starting a youngster atm. The BSJA criteria for some selection (not sure what it is) is about 3'3 for 4 year old but some...
I've always used eggbutt snaffles on my horses but I've never understood the difference between a loose ring and eggbutt. I like to play around with bits to see what they go best in but I'm not sure if it would be a pointless change to try them in a loose ring instead
He's only jumped once a week or once a fortnight, he does enjoy it he just needs a bit more energy. We always do something different whether it be hacks, schooling, jumping, gallops. He is getting fitter as ive been riding more but sometimes he's just asleep haha
Looking for something pure I can add to what I feed already give him so not like competition mix or baileys. Like alfalfa, sugar beet, lindseed type things. He is stabled most of the time but ridden almost everyday, not lazy and can be forward but needs a bit more energy/motivation? when it come...
