    Have been cold hosing it does bring the swelling down but just as it starts to look better it all blows back up again and we're back to square one this morning the leg was so hot the hose just wasn't getting the heat out hence went to ice was hoping to avoid a £65 call out fee and £125 at least...

    have you tried ice, a bag of frozen peas or an ice pack, both work well could be that the hose is not cold enough, he could just have tweaked something or knocked himself can only be minor, however strange that your vet told you to do all that without seeming to completely investigate the cause...
