I think the weight loss is partly to do with box rest, but in the winter it is still a problem. Even on full turn out he is still dropping. He eats all of his haylage and there is never any left over.
He is currently on restricted grazing (he is just coming off box rest) but he's on 2 haylage nets a day (AM and PM) plus hifi, nuts and sugar beet (AM and PM) feeds.

Can any recommend any supplements or feed that are good for helping older horse to maintain weight? I have a 17.2, 21 year old gelding that is prone to dropping off quite easily.

My gelding is on restricted grazing at the moment (due to laminitis) and as he's in his stable more throughout the day, he's started rubbing his tail. I'm pretty sure it's through boredom - does anyone have any tips on how to stop him?
