Last Tuesday, I had a jumping lesson. My horse approached the 80cm upright fence completely fine but at the last minute she chipped in an extra stride which meant that she left one leg hanging down. She got this caught in the pole and thankfully managed to re gain her balance but she nearly fell...
I think her canter may be holding her back since it is lovely and collected until she sees the fence, then she just takes off into a rushed, flat canter! Then this results in her dropping her hind end so we're working on her canter but I'd like some exercises too to help her😊
My mare has gotten into a habit of either dangling her back legs or not picking up one enough to clear the fence. Even if she gets a perfect stride, she stills knocks it with her back legs. We tried gridwork and she still seemed to knock at least one fence in the grid each time. We tried raising...
Can anyone recommend any DIY livery yards with good facilities and hacking close to Gateshead or Chester Le Street way? And their prices please?
Thanks
I am entering my grey Connemara x thoroughbred in our first in hand class this weekend, just a prettiest mare class to ease ourselves into it.
Is it okay to show her in her everyday bridle?
Can I wear: navy jacket, white shirt, pony club tie, beige/cream jodhpurs and brown boots? Do I have to...
I am trying to learn my Intro A test for my competition in a few weeks time however I am confused about movement 9. It says between X & C that there is a transition into trot. This is quite an open movement as to where you begin to trot so when should I begin to trot for this movement? I have...
I'm going to a dressage competition soon (intro B) and although my mare is forward going, responsive and has quite nice paces, she can't seem to understand what to do with her head and neck. She's currently ridden with a bungee for 10/15 mins a few times a week. Although she goes in lovely...
my mare is quite fast and flat in her canter. When we go up to a fence, all her weight is on the forehand so she's finding it hard to pick herself up over a fence. When I try to collect her, she falls back into trot so when I do canter up to a fence, I have to let her keep her flat canter to...
I am thinking of entering my grey Thoroughbred X Connemara into the in hand prettiest mare at a show next month. We've never done in hand so what usually happens during a prettiest mare class?
Thanks!
