I was wondering if anyone could help.
I only ride once or twice a week in a lesson at a great riding school, without a doubt the best one around. However the only problem I find with them is that we do NO work without stirrups. When I had my gelding I used to ride stirrupless for about 10-15...
Admittedly haven't read through the whole of this thread but I'd say it's definitely a matter of principle. They should NOT be riding your horse full stop - especially considering insurance etc. - what if something happened to them or the horse?
Also, I don't think it's cruel to keep a horse...
I'd kill for something like what you're offering :(
It seems like where I am, finding a good loan or share is like gold dust - with all my studying I don't have time to keep my own but would love to loan again. However all the offered loans are really far away..
Hope you find someone soon!
Thanks all!
I had no idea sports direct and aldi even sold jodhpurs...clearly I'm a bit behind the times :)
I'll definitely be having a snoop! The sherwood forest jogger types look really nice, there's some quite cheap ones on ebay...
pistolpete I do the same! Shame it's too chilly to ride in...
Hi all,
I'm generally a lurker-y type (eek) but I figured this would be the best place to seek extremely important jodhpur advice..
Can anybody recommend some cheap (student budget!) but really comfy jods or breeches? I think it's time to put my old pairs to rest :o
Any recommendations...
I'm having a bit of a dilemma. The horse I have on loan has been sold (loan is ending immediately), and while I was loaning the horse I paid for her to be passported as her owner hadn't had her done. I'm the holder of the passport, is it now unreasonable to ask the owner for the money I paid for...
Struggling to afford winter costs on top of tonnes of exam revision, coursework and searching endlessly for a job! Oh and the many narrow-minded, judgemental and authoritarian characters that you meet along the way.
you just have to laugh and get on with it:p wouldn't have it any other...
Thankyou for the comments - it is not something he has always done, I've only noticed it recently and it seems to correlate with his becoming uncomfortable under saddle so I'm supposing it's his back.
Blythwind that is worrying! sounds very similar to how he is now. He's completely happy...
Hi,
I'm getting worried about my horse who had begun to hold his tail to the left when moving, be it led or ridden. He doesn't do it when standing still and doesn't seem to react to me pushing the pressure points on his back but has started to feel very tense when I ride him, head up, walking...
This may not be the problem at all but I'd say it's all down to balance, my boy's canter strides are generally pretty fast and he can be strong when being asked to slow down. However if I work on being in absolutely perfect balance from the very start of schooling in walk, thinking about being...
About 100 a month. Includes DIY livery, straw bed, haylage, feed, and trimming (barefoot). I hardly ever compete because I can't afford to hire transport, student problems!:p
They're based right near me so I use them but never had a delivery from them. The girls are absolutely lovely, it's a shame that their delivery system seems to be letting them down!
