I've owned my mare for 4 and a half years. Before we bought her we believe she had a foal in 2005. Last march her behaviour changed dramatically and she was referred to the vet hospital with a tumour on her ovary. She had them both removed and is thankfully back to full health. One thing that...
Because the owners with 4 horses get to do as they please because they pay for 4 animals at once. Although the YO says she treats everyone equal, she doesnt. My mare isnt needy at all, but she gets on very well with the yearling and its unfair how my horse has to get into trouble for being a...
yeah we are in touch with another yard owner who has helped us out in previous years. But she may be full so its just finding out if she can take us, hopefully she can. x
moved to current yard in May. It was brand new and was just starting so there were teething problems as expected. My mare had an operation to remove her ovaries and she has been back in work for about a month now. The yard is very busy, with many different personalities. Recently trouble has...
use a nose net and see if that helps. I know a pony that used to headshake really badly but as soon as he had the nose net on he was perfect and *touch wood* hasnt done it since. Hope that helps.

YAY!! had first dressage comp of the year yesterday. I know... the year!!!! Rather wet and slippy ground after night before downpour but we went anyway.. all studded up. The arena was on a slope unfortunately that sloped down towards the judge.. Was thinking "how on earth am I supposed to do a...

OK so got an unaffiliated dressage comp 2moz. Only doing prelim 10 and 14. Learnt 10 in like five minutes but 14 is soooo fast i keep losing my place! does anyone have any tips on remembering a rapid fire test?? i know i sound like a complete twit because its only prelim but its hard 2 remember...

gosh i wish my belgian warmblood was as beefy as her!!!! :P shes lovely and good luck in whatever you do with her. Sorry but beefy was the only word i could think of :P
i agree to try a sheepskin sleeve.... really helped my arab who was cut when clipping (not me may I add) on the girth area and used to collapse when tacking up... but after trying the sleeve she never done it again:)
I dont mind Katie riding but she is only getting so much hype because she is already famous. Im sure there are many budding dressage stars who would have jumped at the chance to be at HOYS but were beaten by a celeb who looked stiff and rigid. Ok she did ok and her one time changes were good but...
personally i say no banks. I have a 16.3hh that is stuffed in a stable with banks. They are of a decent size but with banks the stable seems to shrink! They lasted a couple of days then they were all dragged down. I think if the stable is large and you make them like 3ft high and solid then yeah...
I use the Mark Todd and it seems to work exactly as the original and as a little bonus, the ropes have blue markers on them so they are perfect for getting the balance right on either side :P
