Im training yo be an equine physio so i have to do alot of studying to do with muscle, tendon and ligament damage and repair.
All i do in the run up to hunting is hack as boring as i find it the more the better and you cant involve too many hills starting off steady walk asking them to move...
Im another 1 for road work all ive done with mine is hack out on the roads and do hill work.
Concussion introduced slowly is a good thing as (going in to geeky mode) when the cells get damaged by concussion when the repair themselves they repair them selves stronger. So if you do alot...
only jump if i have to if hounds are hunting then you jump what has to be jumped in order to get on with hounds but unless i have to i dont. i like my horse to have some fuel left in its engine for the 3 o'clock f..... trail :(
ye that ne made me laugh id love them to sit on our browbeaten pieces of sports equipment and then expect them to say they are not "keen to go". and as for a miserable life they get treated like kings or mine does anyway he goes short of nothing. at the end of the day if i dont look after him...
nope never too much up and down roads. the most you will get is if ur farrier will put mushroom studs in but i wouldnt really advise on these either unless absolutly neccessary as they can cause pressure points and alter the angles of bones ligaments and tendons in the foot.
