Mine are a size 40 and I normally wear a UK 26/28 depending on the fit. Lovely breeches - will never buy another make again! Hold out for their offers though if there is not one on now - they frequently have 20-25% or so off!

How big is your horse? You could always go for a smaller trailer i.e. Ifor Williams 505 which can be towed with a decent sized saloon or estate car - especially if you won't be doing any off-roading.

All the mountain horse ones have zips in the back so won't be completely waterproof - shame coz they look really nice!

The only thing that used to work on my skinny highly strung arab was adding cereal meal and oil to his diet. Used to soak it with some speedy beet and add it to his normal feed and it worked wonders.
