    Lockable saddle racks?

    Lockable saddle racks?

Thank you :) I'd be scared a chain would damage my saddle. How would you wrap it round if you did have a chain?

    Lockable saddle racks?

Hmm, I guess whatever you have - if a theif really wants it, they will get it. It's more of a deterrant I think. So no separate locking arm bits that I can fix to an existing rack that anyone is aware of!?

    Lockable saddle racks?

Hi all, I've purchased a rather lovely saddle and am a bit worried about leaving it in the tack room. I was taking it home every night but this is unbelievably annoying and I would often turn up to the yard having forgotten it! The tack room is locked but no alarm. Anyway, thinking about...

Odd feet on new horse... opinions please.

Wow! Well done for taking this horse on. He is lucky to come to you. You are clearly clued up and have lots of support. Mega ripples on his feet (where the farrier hasn't rasped them off) would suggest he is going to be quite sensitive to diet. But you probs already know this :) good luck!!!

Arrrrh bloomin insurance companies *Rant Alert*

You can change your policy up or down at any point in the year with the NFU, although that's not helpful for you....I have one horse with E&L, had a £2500 sarcoid claim, and I have to say they were brilliant. They will catch you out if you don't READ (like most people don't) your policy docs...

    help youngster being a git

Sounds like he would benefit from some natural horse type ground work...not suggesting you get all carrot-sticked up to the max, but it's amazing how much better 'difficult' horses can be when you start talking a language they understand.....and being consistant....and not getting 'emotional'...

    calming down hyper horse

Sounds a bit weird and wafty, but the best thing my super stressy hyper tb responds to is breathing. Nice deep in and out breaths, and just thinking, slow, slow, slow. Sitting heavy in to the seat and wrapping my top leg round him. If I held on to him so my knuckles were white (i.e. very tense!)...

hunting - can EVERY horse really hunt??

No :( tried to take my ex hurdling 6 yo tb to a local 'quiet' meet yesterday - it was a disaster from start to finish, absolutely blew his brains, think I managed to annoy everyone and promptly fell off after the first jump.....I can safely say he is NOT one for hunting!!!! If I were braver, and...

    Barefoot people - diet?

Hey, you really need to self educate on this one - just because one person feeds their horse something, doesn't mean that it will be right for your horse - you need to understand what you are feeding and why. As a general rule, it's high fibre, low sugar, so that A&P C&C would be unsuitable -...

    Your horse live thread.......

Probable - although he proceeded to say how it was rusty because he had left it out in the rain?? He may have been joking of course (although if he was he didn't make it clear!), but was a bit irresponsible I thought! Not a party pooper at all, and I did think they were amusing, but a few things...

    Your horse live thread.......

I was working on a stand both days but did manage to get out and about a bit - didn't buy too much as was just so overwhelmed by the amount of stuff and I couldn't decide on what I wanted - so just ended up with some gloves, and a present for my friend!! I did manage to watch some demos -...

    Help! Horse has gone lame...

Sorry to say it but it sounds like laminitis to me!! The horse was sound when you kept him in (off the grass), the lameness is showing in an unshod back foot?? Why don't you try keeping the horse in (not on box rest as someone suggested) but in an area where the horse can move around but avoid...
