    Good SJ instructors in hampshire?

Another vote for Paul Crago, fab coach very patient, firm but fair. Here's his website www.paulcragoshowjumping.co.uk, he's in Berkshire but wouldn't be too bad from Basingstoke.

Event Riders/Showjumpers in Kent & South East

Depending how far away in the south east you are prepared to send him, Paul Crago is in Berkshire & does a great job producing young horses. Have a look here www.paulcragoshowjumping.co.uk

    Confused about Counter Canter

I agree, I was always taught that counter canter was a strengthening & straightening exercise. Now I show jump & was told not to teach counter canter at all as she needs to change immediately not canter on the wrong leg!

    Confused about Counter Canter

The picture with Daisy in is correct, in counter canter the horse should be slightly bent towards the leading leg, so if the left leg is leading then he should be bent over that leg, maybe check with your trainer & ask them to explain why they have you on a circle bent to the inside.

    Technically not horsey... Bunnies

We always picked wild plants for our rabbits, my parents kept rabbits in the war & thats what they always did, so as children we learned what to pick & now do the same for my guinea pig. There is loads of stuff they can eat, if you can't identify the plants there must be some books or something...

new BS ruling on fetlock boots

It does seem all a bit confusing to me, as we are at lower levels then it seems I can still use the boots I have, but poor pro riders all seeking decent looking legal boots.

renewing my BS membership - quick Q re: 6 months

I renewed for 6 months too & only noticed yesterday that they have renewed fleur for 12 months, so no idea why this is. I'm quite glad as now I won't have to renew myself & her at the same time. Yes, if you get a double clear tomorrow it will count towards your double clears as the 6 months...

    Schooling pet hates...

I think we would too, I was asked by my coach to email my planned shows & classes, then the training sessions I thought I wanted in between to help me get there. When asked why I had planned a 1m speed class before our first go at Disco I replied that I then wouldn't need to worry about jumping...

    SJ Trainers - A3 Hampshire/Surrey

Paul is fab & would be my number one choice but I think he is outside the area the OP wants to travel to. Have a look here though www.paulcragoshowjumping.co.uk

That's the end of the orange one's eventing season :( DDFT injury.

What a shame, but its good you caught it early. I used the builders security panels, its called arris fencing, to make a pen for Kizzy. The panels bolt together & stand in big feet, much safer & more secure than electric fencing, you will need help to move it around though as its bulky & heavy...

In need of an instructor.... Berkshire

I have been going to Paul Crago for about 5 years, have a look here www.paulcragoshowjumping.co.uk, he is great with the flatwork as well as jumping, or his wife Karen does dressage lessons so you could use them both. Hope thats useful.

    Nerves! (long sorry)

Thanks for your reply, was ages, a few years ago & so yes I should probably give her the benefit of the doubt as you say she did seem committed to seeing the process through. Perhaps some personal circumstances prevented her from following up, & then I myself moved on to sports psychology with...
