    Stable Mirrors

We bought one for Jack from Amigo stable mirrors online. He wasn't weaving but was gettin wound up in his stable due to being on his own - kicking the door etc. Since we've had the mirror there has been a huge difference...so much calmer, walks into his stable at night voluntarily and is always...

    Dually Halter Headcollar

We bought ours a few months ago and now wouldn't be without it...watched the dvd first which was very useful. Definately helped to teach Jack some manners! Definitely worth the money!

    Curious....

[ QUOTE ] Surely you use your common sense? If he is cold he needs more rugs, if he is hot he needs less rugs.......hardly rocket science. [/ QUOTE ] As I put in the title..I'm just curious as to what others are doing! No need for the sarcastic comment! Thank you everyone else for your input!

    Curious....

Hello! I'm just a bit curious as to what rugs you're all putting on at the moment? Jack is unclipped and lives out during the day and comes in at night. During the day he's got a Weatherbeeta lightweight on and then at night he has a Weatherbeeta fleece on...just wondering am I being a bit...

'Seven Day Mud-Away' - your thoughts...

We bought some of it two weeks ago because grooming was taking forever! Did a spot test and he had no reaction to it so put it on him and it worked a treat! Well worth the buy!

    Scared of headcollar!

Thank you for your replies they're really useful and I'll have a go at them tomoro! I was thinking that the confidence thing could be the answer because when we do get him in, it's usually for bedtime and he's not a great fan of the stable so this would make sense!

    Scared of headcollar!

He lives at home with us....first few weeks we could just walk straight up to him and catch him, then it got a bit more difficult so we used carrots which worked! And now he just won't let us go near him with it and I don't know why! There's only me and my sister that handle him and he does the...

    Scared of headcollar!

Our boy has developed this fear of his headcollar...to the point where he won't let it go anywhere near him, which makes him quite difficult to catch in at the end of the day. If I spend an hour or so with him getting him used to it he will eventually let me put it on him but then the next day...

    Still in saddle dilemma!!

That's what the saddle fitter did tell us...that we'd have his saddle forever but after talking to people it got me thinking! I'd be happy if just re-flocking was needed, but I understand that i'l never really know until I try it I'm in Shropshire...

    Still in saddle dilemma!!

Thank you for replying I felt very comforatble in it, was really supportive and I could have sat in it for hours! The one thing I did notice was that Jack was swishing his tail, throwing his head around and grinding his teeth for the first 5 -10 minutes of having it on, each time.....does this...

A saddle dilemma (also on SY)

This follows up from my Quantum post from the other day.. We're still debating whether to go for a traditional saddle or the Quantum. What I was wondering is, if you have had a saddle fitted by a member of the Master Saddlers how often have you had to buy a new saddle for the same horse? Or is...

What calmer do you use on your TBs?

I use NAF magic for ours...like you I'd heard that sometimes the magnesium etc can actually make them more hyper but I decided to give this a try anyway. It's got magnesium and lots of different herbs in but it has definately made a difference and he's much more relaxed!

    Quantum Saddles......

It was a woman called Laura who came out to us - she was very good but then she's meant to be! I just think it's a lot of money to pay when a made to measure tree saddle will cost us £750. And even if we ended up buying a second one, it would still come out cheaper! Does anyone know how often...
