I am involved as I was thinking of having this horse. I am thinking differently now though. I am looking for a quiet happy hack and and horses with bit of a past doesn't bother me as I am not interested in anything strenuous. but of course I wouldn't want to damage a horse anymore than it...
She isn't my horse and that isn't me riding her. this was the first time she was ridden. The owner seemed kinda proud she went straight into the school and done this. There was no mention of building her up and walking her everyday. It was straight into the school.
The owner said a vet checked her out and said she is showing signs of soreness and would never be able to compete again although could quite happily go on a quiet hack.
I don't know a lot as she isn't my horse. I know the fall caused a fracture to her greater trecher?? (not sure of spelling). She is healed now but has slight sacroiliac issues although nothing showed up on the scans. I don't think she done the propper walk programme. I am pretty sure she was...
She had an injury two years ago so can no longer compete. From looking at this video can somebody with experience notice if there is any soreness or uncomfortableness??? (She had box rest for 18 months and this was her first bit of schooling after. Now she is being re-homed as quiet...
Is it normal to be told at a livery your horse can't be out in the summer day time?
Just looked at a small family livery today and it seems very nice. Only 2 horses that the owners own and I was told the horses are turned out about 6 - 7pm in the summer? kept out all night then brought in...

I love thoroughbreds but I think I'm a bit weighty for them??

Hi
Any tips on how I can feed a horse that isn't on good pasture 24/7 and shares with 5 other horses?
I can't afford to feed all 5 so can't really leave hay out. At the moment I have been going every day and taking her out of the field to feed pony nuts and hay. She isn't doing any work at...
I knew I would get negative comments. I would tell somebody to stay away as well. That is why I wanted to just groom her and look after her first.
I did use a treat to get her halter on. That is how I finally done it. once I put it on and walked her out of the field she was good. Walked next to...
Ok, I will try and keep this short.
My friend has a horse. She hasn't got the time for it anymore and it is sort of rotting in a field. I have always loved horses and she has said if I pay the field rent (£40pcm) I can do what I want with this horse?
I can ride basic... very basic and...
When you put a head collar on a horse then try to walk it and it doesn't budge, then stamps his back hoof.... is that a warning that you should back the hell a way...
