Re: Fronteras. The engines are totally gutless, the chassis is lousy and they are not the most reliable vehicle in the world. The tend to rock and roll a lot as well.

2.2 sounds like a Frontera - I would steer well clear if I were you.

It's not just BHP you need. The most important figure for towing is Torque (pulling power or the ability to maintain engine speed under load). TBH 120BHP is too little in any case. You want to be looking at a diesel with about 140BHP - the torque figure in this range should be more than enough.

TBH at that price these days you are looking at sheds only. I paid £2500 4 years ago for a first lorry but I knew what I was looking at and getting into. It looked rubbish but the basic mechanicals and body were sound. At this price the maintenance each year could well be £1k plus to keep it...

Milage is not a problem - it is how they are maintained. My lorry is ex-fleet from TNT and has 380k km on the clock but will have been maintained to a schedule regardless of cost.
