I can't remember the last time I picked out my youngsters feet as he is barefoot and stays in the field.
My mare, I pick out when I ride, but that's it.
I agree with this. Our 5 horses are on 10 acres and I very rarely poo pick. I have the field harrowed and rolled at the start of spring and that's it. They are also sectioned off into 5 acres in the summer and I still find that I'm fine.
However, I do understand with liveries etc and if it...
Hi All,
Just a bit of a rant really.
I posted about coming off my youngster early last week.... Well I'm frustrated because all I want to do is ride my mare and get her fit and out and about but I've sprained my shoulder from where I landed.
Can't even turn over in bed asleep without...
I don't think that you should have told her about the other rider if she was there with you. On her own yes but not with you. I have never done this and I have been on some really strange yards with some insane rules (I once had to get on my hands and knees to get every piece of shaving off the...
This is true but if I've taken something away from this thread, it's that the potential buyers are walking away from the horse with the same highlighted issue. Perhaps I should have elaborated on that a little more.
This seems really materialistic to me.
Do you not care enough about the horse to get this rectified before potentially more damage is made to the horse, and potentially end up going through auction in the future.
I know morally, I wouldn't be able to do that.
Agree with others; options are...
3.5 K is a lot of money and I would expect a horse to pass a vetting if I was to part with this amount of money. an expensive horse in my area is £1500+. I sold my TB for this amount with a full vetting passed regardless of whether he rode well or not.
I would get this looked into so the...
One thing that they may do is put her birthday as 1st May for whatever year that you say.
My mare was born is 2010 but I didn't know her actual birthday so they standardised it and put it as 1st May 2010.
Mine is doing loads of hacking, getting her out on fun rides and will this Autumn, do her first full season hunting. Then next Spring, she will have a month off after the hunting season, have everything checked over (MOT time!) and then start her schooling :).
I completely get this thread!
I've only ever clicked with three horses in my 20 years of riding. My mare that I had 15 years ago (She had to be sold through redundancy) and my mare now.
I've had THE perfect horse when I was 18 who I had for 4 years. He was fantastic and safe but I just...
For yourself- I would say just buy it however, I think having potentially four horses on 3 acres of land is a bit optimistic! Think about the winter when you need to rotate and mud is everywhere. Grazing will be ruined with four horses on such little land. We have 5 horses (3 big ones 2 small...
To be honest, if I was buying something as an all rounder, I too would walk away.
Horses that compete at high level a lot of the time have to have tests by the vet to be deemed as healthy to compete. Failing on the flexion test could well be something as little as in appropriate shoeing...
Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could get a wool navy hunt jacket for a ladies size 8 from?
Everyone that I've seen is well over £100!!!
