    Do I event/get a new horse? WWYD?

Yes, and of course that's the next step if I do decide to get another.. Do I get this side of winter and have winter of training and gelling with it (It would be a younger horse), or wait until the spring and its all easier... honestly I am so bored of myself...

    Do I event/get a new horse? WWYD?

Maybe if I had a new project I might be able to consider loaning him out. He is at pony club camp this week with a girl from the village so its might be an option...

    Do I event/get a new horse? WWYD?

Thanks for replying. I'll amend my post as its may not not clear. the question wasn't should I sell, but should I buy... . I can not sell the bloody wonky irish horse because I do adore him and if it was a choice of him or eventing/riding I would keep him and not ride. I am rubbish at parting...

    Do I event/get a new horse? WWYD?

I don't know what to do and I am hoping that writing this down and getting some feedback from here will help me to decide. I have a very nice Irish horse who I brought to event. The goal was 1* he was coming along quite nicely and jumped consistently at BE/unaff100. Sadly he injured his...

    Barefoot Eventing?

I shod my horse so I could stud. Barefoot he slipped XC with me (we weren't even going very quick but grass was short and ground hard and wet) and fell on me. Not worth the risk imo. Never slipped studded. Sure others will tell you otherwise but this was my experience.

    Ride the South Downs Way

Its always been on the bucket list, has anyone else done this and could share some tips? I'm wondering mainly - where to leave the horse lorry in Winchester or other end? - how to get back to the lorry when I've finished? (husband will be with me on a bike so could go on train maybe?)...

cost of scans & X rays...?

Thanks, he's not insured for vet fees that's not an issue, but yes you make good point re could just trot up etc. I don't really think there's anything wrong with him but was talking to a friend who has worked on event yards and we were discussing the pre season checks the like of Mary King...

cost of scans & X rays...?

For clarity - I am fairly confident in his nose and was thinking of a full set of vetting x-rays, which would usually include front feet, fetlocks and hocks and perhaps stifles. Scans of same. I realise I can (& will) call my vet, but I suspect he or she is otherwise engaged on a...

cost of scans & X rays...?

I'm considering whether to have my horse scanned and X rayed, just as a pre season check up as he is now 15. Any ideas on what this might cost?

I'd suggest contacting Jo Foley. Local instructor and event rider.

Drag hunting - worth a try?!

Lynds - do you know what the horseheath one is like? I might be able to make that one. Their Facebook page says there is plenty of avoidable jumping at Horseheath. Their Semer meet is a big hedge jumping day - they run over the open team chase course and sometimes you can't go round...

    Mine just completely ignore them.

    Anyone else?

I would imagine that's because when they are at the dark end there's no shadows, whereas if you just have one light they'd be quite a lot of shadows at the 'light' end?
