Fudge's mum here... she is spoilt but at home she does has firm rules about doors, food, etc. She's happy to be fed last and has never shown any food aggression. I think the key here is that the things she values highly are squirrels, people (especially my Dad) and squeaky toys. We can remove...
She's not crate trained and the rescue did tell us she didn't react well to crates so we haven't tried.
We know 2 of her previous homes were people who worked full time and were living in flats. They both rehomed her as she howled all day and neighbours complained. She was only with each a few...
First post in this section of the forum so please be gentle!
We picked up our rescue dog 5 weeks ago from her foster family. Fudge is a 3yr old JRT x Daschund with a very limited history. We think we are her fourth home this year.
She's a real sweetheart whose personality is now really coming...
I am sure I used to race at the same time as Flint was starting to race. It is lovely to see him looking so well. These tough little ones go on forever. Good luck at the show.
I saw bbc had messed with the channels so rushed home at lunch to reset it. Somehow I'm still missing half of the first team riders including Gemma. I'm furious. How can they make it this difficult record
My worst I think are:
- Showing a racing Shetland in a M&M class. The person getting him ready shined his neck with baby oil. We all set off trotting and next thing I know I'm flying round overtaking everyone. The reins had got baby oil on them so I couldn't pull up. The judge kept asking me to...
My vets recommended yellow summer fly cream. It stays on very well and keeps the flies off. Only downside is that it stains your fingers if you don't use gloves. I'm not sure if you can buy it in tack shops...
Blissful ignorance mixed with hope that it will improve ;)
I think some of it is definitely the difficulty in trying to find the right people. There are many people out there willing to offer their input and advice but it's not always beneficial/the outcome isn't always positive. Finding...
Fair enough, apologies for reading wrongly about the bend. As well as looking at signs you could talk to the council about improving the verges. Round here on the only 60mph road the verges are kept well trimmed to allow riders to use them.
Why are you riding your horse down a road with a 60mph speed limit (and if I understand correctly from your post a blind bend!)? I think therein lies your problem, and a sign warning that there might be horses is not going to make a large amount of difference.
You've done the right thing for him, and I hope all the wonderful memories help you through the hard times.
Your post brought tears to my eyes as he looks very much like our old girl who we lost this year. She was also my first pony and was 28yrs old. Our youngster was lost for the first few...
Sub-laxing is where it partially dislocates, mine did it every time I rode and regularly throughout the day. I had limited mobility before the first operation - I could never reach my bra strap behind my back :o but after the first op I couldn't lift my arm above shoulder height which was rather...
