My horse is having her second round of hock injections next week. 10 months since the last. Last time I didn’t feel that confident in the rehab programme given by the vet so asked horse chiro this time. What she’s given me seems a bit ott. Needless to say the programmes given are widely...

Back On Track Hock Boots - best fit etc?

Hi I'm looking to get some BOT hock boots for my mare with bone spavin. Ideally to wear before exercise and in winter in the stable if she'll tolerate. I realise i'll probably have to use stable bandages/wraps on her legs to prevent slippage. I've been told the hole versions are best fit but...

Ideas for a very fussy lami prone horse?

thanks. apart from the max gut everything she needs is in her tea, as that does usually get eaten eventually. she is in quite hard work and is doing really well on this so i'm reluctant to change. the trouble is the max gut really helps her and when she was originally eating it twice a day i...

Ideas for a very fussy lami prone horse?

Thanks MuddyMonster - i'll have a look at agrobs. i have to syringe in bute as and when it's needed and after a day or so it becomes a battle so really don't want to have to resort to that for supplements, but thank you for the suggestion!

Ideas what could be the problem?

Hi there, I've had my mare almost 6 years now and she's never been easy but recently I've had a new issue arisen that has me and my instructor completely stumped! End of last year my mare turned very lethargic to ride and I found it very hard to maintain trot with her. She went in for a work...

Calling all PSSM 2/muscle disorder Experts?

Thanks SEL. I will do that - yes I know her breeding. I've got vit E and tri aminos on order to see if that makes any difference. Yes I'm going to ask the vet to run bloods too next week as she really isn't herself at the moment. Thank you!

Calling all PSSM 2/muscle disorder Experts?

Hi there, I posted the other day about my mare who has suddenly started refusing to go forward under saddle. Vet has been and further investigatory work taking place next week but in the meantime I've happened upon PSSM and i'm now starting to wonder if that might explain some of her symptoms. I...
