Hi, we’re considering taking on an 11.2hh 8 month old cob. It’s not a breed we have ever owned before so what height would people estimate him to make? We know about the string test option etc but are just wanting a rough estimate before we meet him.
Parent heights are unknown.
TIA.
No I don’t want anything on him that with close his mouth so think I might possibly leave the micklem whilst he’s young. He’s been bitted and bridled previously and harshly so am just wanting something comfortable for him to give him a good experience this time around
Thank you for that! I was specifically looking for something that wouldn’t interfere with his nasal notch for this reason and didn’t realise that micklems would!
Hi, that’s really helpful thank you! I personally would want to do it up loose too but they always appear tight in photos so I wasn’t sure it was long enough to do loose. I’m really attracted to the bitless option with it too!
Hi, I will be getting my big lad backed in may and am wanting to get him a nice comfortable bridle to start with.
I have looked at both the micklem multibridle and the ecorider ecolux bridle? Does anyone have any experience of the two?
the only thing that puts me off the micklem is the...
Hi, I’m owning my first ever youngster and he just turned 2 in may. He is 15.3hh at his wither and at least 16hh at his bottom. I was wondering if anyone had any estimates as to how big he may end up?
he is a french trotter.
His dad is 16hh and his dam unknown but the sire on his dams side is...
Thanks so much! I was starting to think he might be! I only wanted a 15.2hh?
We did do the string test on him but it came out at 16hh so think we did it wrong

My rising 2 year old often stands strangely in his stable. It’s not something we’ve ever seen with our other horses before. He stands with his off hind in front of his near hind whilst eating his hay sometimes.
is he just weak and has soft ligaments meaning he can stand in such a way or is...
We are looking to rehome a companion horse that has been diagnosed with kissing spine.
We don’t know much about it. Can they live comfortably as a companion or can further issues occur?
is it a bad idea or can they live normal lives as companions playing with friends etc?
thanks in advance
I did wonder if he could be sabino as his white blaze is speckled around the edges not a block of colour. But I wasn’t convinced as his white markings on his legs are quite small ( only go to the pastern on three legs) and he has no white on his body. But maybe more will appear throughout his...
That’s what I thought, as his breeding should mean he shouldn’t go grey. It’s just the odd few on his mane but I’ve always thought that happened due to older age. Maybe it’s just how he is, I’ve never heard of it before on something his age though.
it shouldn’t be that as he does get all the vitamins and minerals he needs and also has a baby lick with copper that he has access to. I will keep an eye on it though, thank you.
