    Peter gledhill

Pete was recommended to me by my vet for my horse who has had no end of feet issues. He has done a fantastic job and is incredibly patient and generous with his time, no concerns at all with using him.

So what do YOU think is fair?

I shared horses for many years and once was away with work for 3 months. I automatically assumed that I would have to pay for the horse over this time as the owners cost doesnt reduce. In fact the owner was reluctant for me to pay for this time so we came to an agreement. I would look for...

    Anyone own a Cleveland Bay?

I have a CB mare, she is clever and stubborn like the others have said! The best thing about her is that she looks after me no matter what, she will tell you she is unhappy but never take it to a level that is dangerous. She is also very affectionate (once you have won her over!) She also...

    Fractured radius

Thanks for the comments makes me feel much better. Mine is allowed to lie down and not be cross-tied all the time as it is hairline, although i do cross-tie her during the day to keep her in line! Great to hear that people have got to the other side, keep me updates as to Raffs progress...

    Fractured radius

    Fractured Radius

Hi My horse got kicked in the field 11 days ago and has a hairline fracture on her radius. The vet has said that as long as she is kept calm for the next 6 weeks she will make a full recovery, however I am really really worried as she is very difficult to keep calm. Does anyone have any...

Following on Livery Bills, DIY additional charges etc

I am in Surrey, less than 1 hour from London. We pay £500 per month for Part Livery (everything expect excercising a full grooming). We only have one school though. Average for the area is £450-£550. To be honest it seems a lot, I would expect £700 p/m for Full Livery including riding etc so...

Wolf Teeth - How long of work?

Hi My mare has a wolf tooth that the vet has advised I get removed before it causes any problems. How long do people think she will need off from being ridden after it has been removed? Thanks Meg

    Hello and advice please

Thank you for your advice, I will definately continue with the ground work - i used it with my last horse who wouldn't load so feel pretty comfortable with when to release etc. I think I just need to remind myself that it does take time and she is still young. I am so lucky as she is happy in...

    Hello and advice please

Hi everyone, I haven't posted on here for a while so I wanted to say hi again. After 3 years of sharing horses I have decided to bite the bullet and have brought my own horse again. I now have a lovely 16.1hh Cleveland Bay mare called Dorking, or Dorky to her friends. She arrived on Tuesday...

Has anyone used herbal supplements/alternative remedies for arthritis?

I used cinder vinegar, seems to work well.

    Would this be reasonable?

Yes and Yes - I have shared my horse and shared others and would say that what you are asking is fine. I have never insisted on someone having insurance but would recommend it for their sake as much as yours!

    Riders Insurance

I have riders insurance with petplan - they cover what I need and aren't too expensive.

How much do you pay for Full Livery?

We are in Surrey and Full Livery (Feed, Bed, Riding, Mucking out and grroming) is usually around £650 - £700 p/m Part livery which doesn't include riding or grooming more like £500-£550 p/m Extra for additonal bedding, supplements, worming clipping etc.
