I haven’t had his teeth done yet as I’ve only had him a few days but it’s definitely something I will get done ASAP. He’s on haylage currently but I’m wondering if he’s a bit anxious.
I will try the mash as he does seem to enjoy his hard feed more than his fibre!
I’ve just purchased a lovely fella who last ran less than two weeks ago.
He’s a picky eater and not too keen on eating his hay. I’ve had a few ex racers in the past and haven’t come across this particular issue.
Has anybody overcome this? He’s not got a huge amount of condition, so I definitely...
Can anybody recommend a good grass livery - would consider a cheap DIY yard if there is 24/7 turnout in spring and summer.
It am based in Lambourn but will travel 15 mins or so, I guess Marlborough, Hungerford and Wantage areas.
For a well behaved Welsh Sec A gelding.
Hi
I wondered if anybody knew of any charities/organisations that take unwanted animals?
We have a lovely pony who is 2 years old and nobody is interested in him due to his age.
I would like to find him a good permanent home and gift him to somebody but where would be the right place to do...
As the title suggests really! I have backed and broken many horses myself but with my new job and limited time I am considering sending my new horse (which I have not yet purchased) to a professional to back and bring on correctly.
Can anybody suggest somebody good, prefer dressage based...
Try jeyes fluid. I had a 3 year old I bought from Ireland who was very mouthy and immature and chewed tails from the dock and ate them! If you pulled his mane, he tried to eat that too!
In the end, the only thing that actually stopped him was jeyes fluid, only problem is that it stains grey...
I have a riding 7 yr old sports horse, event bred but we did a lot of showing last year.
Due to my redundancy, she had to winter out this year and had a couple of months off.
She is not skinny but is lacking in muscle and condition. She is currently on nuts, chaff and sugar beet and ad lib...
She is 16.2hh, a 6 year old Welton mare and really needs to go eventing. I have ummed and aahed for a year or so now, nearly sold her once and then changed my mind but have come to the conclusion that she is too good for the amount of time and money that I have and needs to go to somebody who...
Hi,
My mare is coming back off loan due the the break up of her loanee and I don't have the time to commit to her.
Can anybody suggest a good sales livery where they take a percentage as I cannot afford the £150/£180 a week. I'm not sure if anybody does this anymore but thought it was work...
Blimey!!! I have 2 and I struggle! 1 is 6 years old and the other is a yearling companion pony. The 6 year old I try to ride at least once in the week, if not twice and both days at the weekend where possible. The pony, I do a bit of leading work with once a week but he's no trouble. I am moving...
It's hard without seeing a photo of the horse, but being that the rider is a novice, I would say around 10.5 to 11 stone. A more experienced rider, a bit more.
