    How good is your hacking?

Looking at all these gorgeous photos I have a severe case of hacking envy!! 😂 I used to think our hacking was ok but in reality its rather poor, although better than most yards have in our area. We have a couple of farm tracks that provide a 30 min or 1 hour hack with minimal road work first on...

    Valuing

As already mentioned, it is hard to give even a rough guide price as there are so many variables to consider and prices fluctuate greatly between areas, you may find a chat with a local estate agent who deals with land sales would be beneficial. When I worked in estate agency we would often get...

    Suggestions and advice please

Thank you all very much for your advice and thoughts. I am really reluctant to bring them home as I love where they are but I can see it from my partners view also in that we have a field and stables which are being wasted (that said it looks like the hay will keep the horses fed this year!) The...

    Suggestions and advice please

Thank you. Yes, the hunt emailed me last year telling me the dates they were coming past, usually giving a day or two's notice.

    Awkward situation.

If I were the sharer in this situation I wouldn't expect to receive any money back, it would have been my choice to end the contract knowing I had two weeks to go

    Suggestions and advice please

This is my first foray into the hunting forum so please bear with me. I'm hoping some of you may be able to give me some help/tips on how to deal with my horses in the following situation: We have been very fortunate to buy a field next to our house which my partner would like me to bring my...

barefoot hoof freaks (and normal people as well).

This sounds really interesting. Unfortunately I have a tendency to pass out at dissections (have tried to be present on several occasions but......) so this is perfect for me! Thank you paddy555

Where do you carry your phone?

I was on a first aid course years ago and we were advised that the best place was on your arm, their reasoning being that it had a greater chance of causing injury to your hip/leg if it was in a hip pocket/down your boot or your ribs/sternum if shoved down your bra and also a greater chance of...

Extra hifi so i can conserve hay?

I have a mare who has never eaten much hay, regardless of type. Following the advice of a nutritionist I started feeding her chaff as a hay replacer many years ago and still do so, it works really well for her and I don't find it works out more expensive.

Please tell me I’m not totally wrong

Haven't read all the replies but I would go with your gut instinct and ignore your friends/vet remarks. My mare went from being happy and willing to incredibly grumpy and I was having some ridden problems with her - every time I mentioned the problems to my instructor I was told it was my riding...

    Quietest cordless clippers

Was just about to post the same question!! My mare isn't great to clip and so I need something quiet and cordless too! She will stand happily if I run my Liveryman Element trimmers all over her while they are running. I've been toying with trying a small clip with them but don't want to break them!

    Livid

This! Last year I had a 20kg bag of feed lobbed over my gate - luckily it didn't split but I was amazed anyone would think it acceptable to do that

I also would advise the vet now, best to find the root cause and work from there.

How many times do you run through a dressage test?

Same here. Whats even worse is when you're running through your test in your head in the warm up and someone is running through the test for the next class and it is being called to them............
