Why people focus on Arabians while talking about TB genes ? No one says that TB is %100 arab. There are a few misconceptions about TB history.
1- Byerley Turk is a Turkish horse not an arab. still why people suppose that he was an Arab I do not understand.
Also he was not an Akhal Teke...
Do you want to use your stallion as a sire? That is a lottery.
I think you should find a proper sire.
The 2nd mare (mom of Torver) has a great colt by Indian Ridge called Tumbleweed Ridge, lifetime eranings £ 250.000
So I'd like to say that ''find a sire from Indian Ridge line'' but no...
there are many reasons that can lead to this. Inflammation or high pressure in intestine, bacterial problems, cribbing, eating objects...(more reasons for racers)
I think a vet should listen intestine then recognises which part of intestine has a problem. even may use a probe, them your vet can...
I have no idea about how it works, just happens, below you can see WW famous Hail To Reason's offspring record. No chestnut and just only 12 Gr.
https://www.pedigreequery.com/progeny/hail+to+reason
I'd check his and her past progeny and try to guess.
We know some stallions their whole progeny has same colour (bay) but some bay stallions has just %50 bay progeny...So bay is not dominant the individual is dominant, it depends on the dominance of the stallion and mare.
I've been using olive oil for years. Olive oil is expensive in the UK but it is very popular and accessible in Mediterranean countries. I know that very large breeding studs also use olive oil and I have never heard of such an effect.
Even endurance events have been cancelled until further notice. not sure that is necessary for outdoor sports?
Also I'd like to say depression and axiety are worse than coronavirus.
it depends on the stallion, if it is a TB, I'd check the past year stud report and we can see some numbers ;
- number of covered mares
- pregnancy %
- not so related but even how many dead foals
then I'd check the covered broodmares. Did he mated with young and healty mares or mated with...
Every single year international TB breeders import pregnant broodmares from Kentucky. Keeneland bloodstock sale starts mid of November and finishes end of November.
Breeding(mating) season starts in mid of Feb. So a lot of 9-10 months pregnant broodmares spend 12-15 hours on the airplane.
it is a hard decision, the brain fights against heart
I'm a TB guy, so my point might be strange.
I'd try to look at the pedigree. If there is not any inbreeding in the first 4 generations (if it is 5 better) that is good news. Each breed has its own genetic pool. Purearabians have a...
Face shape depends on the type and female bloodline. Most flat race PA horses have a flat shape face, you can not see any curve.
Obviously I'm talking about real PA flat racehorses, some of French PA flat racehorses are not ''pure'' they have TB blood.Shame!
Crabbet is a different story. Some...
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts. (Bertrand Russell)
