Yeah, my old man is grossly fat, no matter how much work he is in or how little grazing he gets he stays overweight. I guess I ought to be pleased as according to the dentist he's about 25, and still being ridden 5 or 6 times a week, but it does make life hard!
Opie is on a small strip...
This year was wonderful for my daughter and her pony; they've competed at state level, joined 2 junior teams and together they have now jumped 4 foot... just three inches smaller than my daughter is!
Brown Sugar (Roxy), a 7 y/o 14.1hh arab x quarter pony, is my eldest daughters, I have a now 20+ mustang/paint/grade fugly called Opie, whom I love dearly (Even if he is a bit gross looking...:o)
Every time I see my kids ride I can't help but fill up, I'm so proud of them! :o
However... soon the eldest (9) will be riding so much better than I ever did  :D
^^ This! In the one instance Roxy refused, I was in the arena taking pictures, and my OH was videoing, even though she didn't fall off (just calmly asked R to stand by the spooky jump until she was no longer scared, walked her round and tried again!) You can see me run over in the background...
From October to February, both wear rain sheets, the lightest you can get.
Our winter lows are only 20C (heaven after living in the UK!), but we get a lot of rain!
As a long term lurker, part of the reason I finally got an account was this video.
I have 3 children under the age of 9, the eldest of whom is pony mad. After a year of lessons (having previously been on the lead rein on my own horse) I bought Brown Sugar (Roxy), a 7 y/o 14.1hh arab x quarter...
Roxy has a saddle cloth with her name on it, so does her headcollar... however as mommy who has to pay for everything (daughters pony) I'd change it toMoney Pit! :D
