YO issues - are we being behaving unacceptably?!

Totally agree. Hence I do mine myself. My way! Lol. X :D

Further to the "proper" turnout time

I think part of the problem can be what is acceptable to you may not be acceptable to YO? Must be very difficult pleasing everyone though. I also think being consistent is the key to a happy yard. Whats ok for one has to be ok for all otherwise resentment begins to build. I speak from...

YO issues - are we being behaving unacceptably?!

Peronally, I would rather have my boy out feeling slightly cooler (though able to maintain his own warmth walking about) than being stuck in for 17 hours plus (mine are in around 4pm on nice days). Each to there own though! :)

YO issues - are we being behaving unacceptably?!

Doris 2008 states that the YO doesn't actually turn up until gone 9.30am so what time do the horses actually get out? I too think that find a yard to suit in every way is virtually impossible due to individual preferences. My two friends and I moved yards last year. The new YO had contracts on...

    Adjustable leather saddle?

I have a Bates. Well worth the £1000 price tag! Fab fit for my horse and very comfy for me. I urge you to have a registered saddle fitter to your horse though. X

    Women convicted of cruelty/ Yorkshire

Perhaps they should have been ordered to use some of the money gained from illegally growing and selling drugs at the farm to pay the RSPCA costs?

    Saddle help please!!

I bought my boy last Aug just backed (ID x Cob, 5 yrs). He was a similar shape to yours. I had a new Bates gp saddle fitted which has interchangable gullet. It fits both of us like a dream. Would highly recommend it. Also, I bought a Kent and Masters for my last mare and hated it. Each to their...

    Bitless Bridles opinions?

I have had my youngster in an English hackamore for 3 weeks. Week before and 2 weeks after having wolf tooth out. Couldn't wait to get him back in his snaffle! He was heavy in the hand, I had a definiate lack of breaks and steering could be dodgy! Having said all that, the friend that I borrowed...

    Mud fever

Pig oil! Fantastic stuff! My boy has never suffered with mud fever but as a preventative I have been using it this winter. Coat legs upto the knee and rub into heels once a week. Any mud just slides off, leaving beautiful clean legs! :)

Am I the only one who thinks a horse should go out daily

Our 6 horses have been out every day at 6.30am well rugged and with hay, and in again at 2pm ish. They are better off both physically and mentally for spending time out.:)

Advice to new horse owner .... If only you knew what you know now!!

Forgive me, but 'pluck up the courage to ride him'! Have you not bought something you cannot wait to ride? Something totally suitable for you? If not, shame on the person that sold you him/her!

    Should I move him?

How sad! World horse welfare have alot of companion horses needing loan homes. Not an immediate answer though. Could you borrow a youngster in the mean time?

Should I traumatise my horse by making him wear.....
