    Eland Lodge 3 discipline camp?!

I am on a short legged 14.1 pony so no need to worry that everyone else will be on horses! No need to take hay or bedding, I already asked that!

Bit bristle/brush training aid - advice please

Already done all this. It is pure cheekiness on his part; he will only do it maybe once or possibly twice in a training session or in a competition. It is just so frustrating as there is no reason as to why he does it. He is a strong welshie and when he does it there is nothing that I can do to...

Bit bristle/brush training aid - advice please

Hi, My pony occasionally takes a hold of the bit to run out of a jump. As a bit of a last resort I am considering trying out a bit brush thing to deter him from doing this as changing bits has not helped. Does anyone know if I should go up a bit size to use it as I don't want it irritating...

    My first ODE (warning:long)

Thanks Mille-Rose, I think our next outing is a HT at Epworth early Oct. We will probably do the small classes so I can concentrate on not getting the run outs - they are due to cheekiness rather than lack of bravery! I have just noticed my pics do not show on the thread - can anyone else see...

What a lovely thread and what a beautiful horse! I love her markings! She makes jumping look effortless! Well done with what you have achieved with her :D

    My first ODE (warning:long)

OK, this is my second time writing this as my computer lost the first one....so I hope it is of some help to someone! Firstly, thanks to everyone who gave me prep tips for the weeks leading to my first ODE - I did some training sessions and they really helped. I also did some research as to...

Most ridiculous horse names you've come across....??

I got beaten in a SJ class the other week by a cute little thing, can't have been more that 12.2hh, but it was called 'Rinky Dinky Donut'. Quite funny hearing that come out over the tannoy!

First ODE in a couple of weeks....any tips???

Hi, no, I am trying the ODE at Speetley. Yes, I have done SJ and XC with him, I have had lessons at both recently and I have got a SX planned next weekend as a warm up. I think it is the dressage, and combining all 3 in 1 day that I will get stressed about nearer the time! Thanks for the...

First ODE in a couple of weeks....any tips???

So, I am being brave and entering my first unaffiliated ODE in a couple of weeks. Has anyone got any tips for the day or for how to prepare over the next 2 weeks? I have never even done a dressage test before so it is a bit of a big step, but it is local so I thought I may as well give it a go...

How's he looking 3 months on?

My little standardbred ....with some feed, exercise, and a summer coat... I can't believe how different he looks! Just after I got him: After a show cross comp a couple of weeks ago ('scuse the saddle sweat!): What option do I use to avoid HUGE pics??!! :o
