From what I can remember the YO was saying she will only have full liveries in (due to the previously mentioned reasons) and that is why she believes her yard to be free of yard bitching and politics.

I read it too and I felt the same as the OP, I didn't like the way it came across and thought the bit about the full liveries being more likely to be intelligent was very insulting.
Are you sure they are leaking? I used to think mine were letting water in but they weren't, it's just the feel of the cold water through the gloves making it feel like they are leaking. As somebody else said earlier - they do make your hands feel like blocks of ice sometimes, but I don't wear...

Mine are out every other day for about 5 hours. Basically until they appear at the gate. Once they turn up there they don't wander off again but I try to leave them until about 4pm.

I'd try the job centre as it's free to advertise with them, and also local feed and tack shops, but do the advert properly, not handwritten or it looks too casual.
You could do mini work trials as part of the interview - see how they handle horses, muck out a stable etc, you can pay them for...
