Again I would like to see double blinded placebo clinical trial data provided before horse and hound forums are used as advertising and marketing platforms-we are not allowed to advertise on here!!! Saline wash and the correct conditions for healing and the body has an amazing way of healing itself!
I would make any changes in grazing slowly especially if there is more grass in a field than he is used to. And if he keeps swapping paddocks his guts won't get used to the richer grass. So take is slowly every time he goes back onto the lush grass.
Could be from a knock to the head, extra bone forming can cause lumps on the front of the head a bit like a splint on the leg! Needs X-rays to diagnose and can cause head ache like symptoms.
Depending on how far you could travel, I have family based in Coalpit Heath that may appreciate some help with the horses. If the distance is ok, pm me with your phone number and I'll speak to them for you. Zoe
I am moving down to Devon in a few weeks and was wondering if there is anyone on here who does long distance rides/endurance that I could meet up with and train with?
I'm based just outside of Tavistock but have transport so can box up for longer rides etc
I'm mainly interested in the shorter...
Did you know there was a sight that vets list failed horses, yes they do do it on the day they fail them on.

Just a word of warning to all those who advocate "just tie them up and get them shut in quick" my gelding was like this when I wasn't stood at his head (all confidence lacking) and I was told by a well known "horse trainer" to loop the lunge line off the pressure halter through a tie at the...
Vets are all trained to degree level in parasitology so surprisingly do know their stuff! And despite constant criticism that all vets want to do is bleed money out of people, the vast majority do NEED to earn a living ( as do you all ;-)). So if you can put those criticisms aside and think...
I drive an X-Trail and tow a 16.3 ISH in a single horse trailer and it is fine. I bought the X-Trail for work and when it was less battered managed 40-44mpg in the wilds of Devon but its now closer to 38-40mpg. This is not towing mpg though! Servicing costs etc are comparable. I would happily...
