    Fast Fibre replacements....

Hi all, thanks ever so much for all your suggestions, I'm really grateful. Think I'll try the copra meal for starters then the baileys conditioning if that doesn't work. To reply to some of your questions, "grott-bag" is on 93% pure magnesium already as a calmer, she's not in work at the...

    Fast Fibre replacements....

Hi all, Looking to "try" and save some pennies on my nags monthly food bill. Currently she's costing me nearly £90, which consists of: 5/6 bags of Fast Fibre 2 bags of D & H fibre beet 1 bag of micronised linseed. The madam in question is a 17.2 sport horse, stresses weight off in the...

Speedi-Beet, providing rocket fuel since the 90's?!

Good point Sugar and Spice, never thought of that! "Might" give it another go and up the dose of magnesium she gets (& do a few dozen hail Mary's when turning the old baggage out). Thanks for your replies everyone, much appreciated.

Speedi-Beet, providing rocket fuel since the 90's?!

Hi all, thanks for the replies, yep, it's definitely Speedi-Beet, bought the blasted bag on Saturday morning after trying trial sized bag I was sent by British Horse feeds on Friday-I now have a bag of Speedi-Beet I daren't use, let alone let madam have a whiff of. I also wondered if it was...

Speedi-Beet, providing rocket fuel since the 90's?!

Hi all, I'm hoping I'm not alone here, but I fed Speedi-Beet years ago to my old horizontal cob, who was bone idle all his life & nothing ever seemed to affect him, not even competition mixes, except Speedi-beet which made him downright dangerous. I've got my WB on a barefoot diet of FF &...

Dalmation as a Gun Dog - thoughts....

I've had 4 over the years, 2 females and 2 males. I found the females better to work with by far, they tended to concentrate more, faster learners, more "toy motivated" and generally more eager to please. The males tended to be a bit "dappy" day dreaming, short attention span, and a little...

Best turnout rugs for broad chests?

I had a 15.2hh tank, that also took 6'9" rugs, he had a huge neck, wide chest and deep girth, (not much of a back-side though). The only rugs to fit him properly were Mark Todd and Masta; Amigos tended to be a bit tight around the shoulders and Wetherbeeta's were an awful fit all round...

Horse transport from Surrey to Cheltenham

Morning Horse and Hounders, I was wondering if I could pick your brains, I've got a large warmblood mare (17hh) that will be spending a bit of time on my friends farm up in Cheltenham. Can anyone recommend any equine transport companies that go up to Cheltenham? Thank you.

    hay and haylage guildford/surrey areas

You could try Bonhurst Farm, I think they're out Bramley way, they charge £35 for a large round bale of haylage, but they only deliver a minimum of 3 bales at a time. I think their hay bales are about £40?

    It's broke, lets breed it!

I agree! As i seem to have one of those poor said mares who is broken and seems every Tom, Dick & Harry has tried to breed from her and mistreat her in every awful way possible. I've had her 6 months an'd we've only just reached the point that she will allow me to put a headcollar on and touch...

History wanted on 17hh coloured sport horse called Hope

Hello Everyone, i'm completely new to this forum stuff, so bear with me! I stupidly bought from a dealer a horse that was going to the meat man, she's about 17hh, said to be 5/6 (with her issues I suspect a fair bit older). Hope is said to have originated in Winchester, Hampshire, (how...
