I have found rubber mats to be a godsend, I deep litter with shavings and take out poop and wet every day, it doesn't take long. The main issue with mats is without good drainage you will have stale urine collecting underneath. If you deep litter you should be ok.
Wow, over a year ago, I can't believe it's been that long. That is super news, I hear now vessels in the area have armed security on board or at least take to arms if needed. It is crazy to have a trip in the area when its so dangerous.
Not defending anyone but could some of the posts come from overseas with a different timezone? Anyway we had a lovely service and very poignant one, it was good to see so many youngsters in attendance.
Well I'm really amazed at the stories of foxes being so aggressive, back where I used to live which was very built up we had urban foxes roaming around in daylight scavenging and being an all round pest but never heard of any attacks, now I'm in the country surrounded by farmland I haven't seen...
My yearling is about 18 months old and she is on a haynet although I don't think its recommended by some as they say they are supposed to be eating from the floor but I don't know how accurate this is. Someone will have better knowledge than me about it.
We have quite a few in our area and I have never heard of horses having problems with them. I see them every day in the fields underneath them, cows and sheep as well. A lot more will be going up in the future as you need an army of them to provide a decent amount of power.
I sympathise with those that have to suffer this, I've moved to a rural village from a well built up town and the difference is amazing. I've only heard a couple go off last night and that was it, back in the town you would here them every night for 3 weeks or more.
I was so lucky with our dog, we gave a cat a home when our neighbour emigrated and they took to each other like they were old friends, I was gobsmacked.
I have a ball for the yearling who used to run away from it snorting all the time. Now she kicks it about all over the place but I don't know if that's coz she's angry and wants more food!
I do both and try to hack at least twice a week, if I don't my mare gets really crabby, it's also been superb for her getting used to tractors and other large vehicles. I now have a neighbour who's just got an Arab (gorgeous) and we have started to go out more regularly.
Mine's getting a clip with a new clipper, will properly be her worst Christmas ever but a brand new rug will make up for it I'm sure, with an apple or two.
