My work horse is a 6 yr old ID. He is quirky, a good horse but takes some managing and has some very odd behaviour at times. He has a retained testicle. How much of his weirdness could be due to this? He does remind me of a stallion at times.
I have a fabulous Shetland, he is 10 yrs old and a child’s dream. I got him as a companion for my Warmblood who passed away recently. He has been out on loan to a fabulous family but unfortunately they had a horrendous incident happen and had to give the pony back to me less than a year after...
Hi I have a Shetland that I have just moved to a yard in Alfold, Surrey. I enquired about the farrier and the yard owner told me he charges £46 for a trim!! Now my Shetland gets looked at every 10 ish weeks sometimes he just needs a rasp and sometimes a tiny bit of trimming. I think £46 is a bit...
Friend and I were clipping yesterday, I was doing one side and she was doing the other. I was going to leave a saddle patch but she clipped too high on the other side (bit of a miscommunication) so I had to clip it all off. Anybody else not leave a saddle patch? I am now worried about her back ?
I have a brand new unopened tube of Sedalin, now I’m aware of all the rules/dangers of selling but it does mean that I have to put it in the bin!!! It’s such a waste. Is there anything I can do to avoid binning it?
I’m ok!! It was very peaceful and very quick. I am struggling now with the fact that I will never EVER see or touch my horse ever again!!! After 22 years it is surreal
Can anyone give me advice/options on what to do afterwards? My yard manager asked me about ashes, with previous horses I haven’t had anything but this horse is seriously special to me. I’m going to have his tail hair.
UPDATE
My boy has told me it’s time, finding it difficult to walk now, if I didn’t know any better I would swear he could sense my hesitation so made it obvious for me. Vet booked for Tuesday. 22 years of ownership is a long time. Can’t really remember life without him!!
