Re the "haven't a clue" thread: what's the numptiest thing YOU'VE done? ;)

Working at a private yard. One of the horses was very large (17.2 ish). I was brushing his front leg and thought I'd seen something on the front of his cannon bone. Stuck my head in front of his knee and got clobbered in the face. I ended up with a lovely bruise. I'm sure there's more and...

For those of you with goldfish in your water troughs

Oh, I'm only three times as old as your oldest fish. I'm not sure how stupid you think I am. Like I said, I kept goldfish in a tank in the house for years. They were all bought tiny and grew to be very large. Keeping fish in troughs in the first place is going them no favours.

For those of you with goldfish in your water troughs

Which bit? Fish produce ammonia and nitrates. That's not improving the water quality. IME goldfish don't eat much algae. Again, not improving the quality of the water. Chlorine is bad for fish. People here have said they're keeping their fish in untreated water. Is that not treating them...

For those of you with goldfish in your water troughs

I'm not spouting rubbish. No, I have not been keeping fish in a trough. I did however have goldfish in a large tank in my house for many years. I firmly stand by what I said- they're filthy ******s and won't improve the water quality in a trough in any way. There are better ways of managing...

For those of you with goldfish in your water troughs

I think a bunch of you are being stupid and willfully ignorant. Goldfish in tanks will not keep your water clean. They're dirty little ******s who poop lots for the size. Unless you're changing the water regularly (and if you're too lazy to clean the tank, I do wonder) then there's going to...

    Best weight carrying breeds

What breeds would you say are the best at carrying weight? Let's say up to 16 stone. Thanks

    Does anyone use lucern nuts?

They're alfalfa and don't agree with all horses. :) The cubes we used to use were quite hard so they were soaked. Can't find them anymore though.

What can I do with apple cidar vinegar and tea tree oil?

Neat tea tree stings like mad on wounds. It's also quite harsh. My vet doesn't like it being used on them.

    REALLY ?!?

I don't think it is. It's no worse than leather IMO. I'd rather see all the parts of the animal get used rather than discarded. It'd be no good in my house (dogs would chew it no doubt!) but I can see the appeal.

HOW DO MY HORSES HOOVES LOOK ??

How can you forget you have caps on though? Surely once you've typed a word, you realise? (Genuinely puzzled by this. I look at the screen while typing and would spot it right away.) It is also generally accepted that use of caps equals shouting, at least on forums.

Bedding banks not mucked out for decade - normal?

Unhygienic and I'd be worried about the walls rotting behind the banks.

    Suspensory ligament support - boots

There's not a boot made that can support the horse in the way you want. The SMBs are awful for tendon health because they heat the leg up so much.

HOW DO MY HORSES HOOVES LOOK ??

I thought you were younger because of your typing and blocks of 'shouting'.
