Did you claim for the prascend on your insurance? My old horse tested positive for Cushings and vet told me I would be able to claim for prascend for one year and then as in most conditions/illnesses the insurance company exclude it and most likely anything related Cushings eg laminitis. Sadly...

After trial and error my small mouthed fleshy tongued exracehorse was happiest in a Korsteel J.P Jointed loose ring snaffle. It is shaped perfectly to lie over the tongue and is quite thin too. Not too expensive either. You can order them on line.

Definately agree with this. Your mare's symptoms exactly mirror my horse's when he started cushings. Sadly Prascend didn't make any difference to him and laminitis had taken hold but I do know it can turn some round very quickly. I believe some vets are offering free ACTH tests too.

My horse had puffy orbits just before he tested positive for Cushings. He was also showing the early stages of laminitis due to the Cushings at the same time. He didn't test positive for ems but I did put him straight on a lamanitic diet. I would definately speak to your vet.
