Hi, my horse is barefoot behind but he is now on a stoney yard. Are there any boots that can be used for riding/turnout/poultice? Or am I looking for something that doesn't exist? He's currently recovering from a hoof abscess so just need something to turn him out in to keep in clean, for when...
I rode in some Roeckl gloves and they were fab (not entirely sure which ones). I think they are summer ones but they kept my hands pretty warm.
I don't normally like gloves, they make my hands fuzzy, but I wore these for ages and forgot I had them on.
My problem is that on reading reviews...
Hi!
I am looking to buy a new hat. Have always ridden in a traditional velvet hat (which I do like the look of) but really wanting a vented style as I'm fed up having a hot, sweaty head!!
My budget is around £100 (could go a little higher). Can anyone recommend a vented design that has a high...
Thank you both! How do I private message from my phone? Can't seem to find the right button!
You've both given me stuff to look up - I too am worries about using the wrong techniques or doing it wrong. Just need some sound sources of information and how to get started really. Working up to...
So, following a rather deep conversation with my boss today I am keen to spend a bit of time doing some groundwork with my old boy.
I am loathed to give any 'titles' of techniques I would like to try as there is so much crossover and prejudice between different techniques. Basically I would...
Hi!
So as the title suggests, I am looking for recommendations for the best winter riding jacket. Would want one to keep me warm and cosy, waterproof and cover my bum! Need to be able to ride in it as well as the usual yard duties - any suggestions?!
😊
My boy keeps catching his fetlocks in the field. It's only become a problem now he's older. I think he must be catching the insides of his fetlocks with his other feet (the fore feet are worse as he has shoes on but the hinds are barefoot so the knocks are not quite so bad). He leaves himself...
Perhaps it might be best to have a proper saddle fitter out? They know what they're doing and will be able to make sure he's correctly fitted. It may also be useful to have a Physio check his back as a longer saddle may have already caused some sore areas. I had this same problem (I ride in a...
Hi
I'm looking for a large, probably double wheeled, wheelbarrow. I need it for carting tack/hay/feed (not necessarily all at once!) to the yard at the other end of my road. Can anyone recommend a decent, but not hideously expensive one??
Many thanks!
He only hacks out 2-3 times a week for an hour tops. We mostly walk, but of trot and an odd canter. I think the problem is that I've been doing more trotting on the roads which with hindsight I will now stop. As I say though, I have discussed his pain relief and workload with my vet so that side...
My 22 year old TB x had the farrier today. He has arthritis in his pelvis and is on bute for it. The left hind shoe was removed but when the farrier attempted to remove the right hind shoe (meaning horse had to weightbear on the worse left hind leg), he was unable to do so. He was so reluctant...
