I'd write off showing him until later, I don't think you can improve a yearling quickly without affecting their growth. Mine looks weedy but has all her vitamins and minerals covered and grass to eat so I'd suggest looking at something like Dodson and Horrell Sure grow to ensure he has the...
Standard, its cool have a party antics from my lads. The atmosphere at my yard is that of lads on a holiday in Magaluf. Run round, play and fight all night, soon as sun comes up they retire to their stables and sleep it off. I now have 3 guaranteed to spend the majority of their day asleep when...
I didn't know the owners were on here. I agree with Auslander, why does everyone jump to the worst scenario ie insurance money? Simply saying, oh, I wondered what happened, it wasn't long since he won is a lot more civil than insinuating it was an insurance money job which is what Mithras did.
I know his owner, she is the type to really try with a horse, not a decision taken lightly. Also bear in mind other posts about horses injured in several limbs who the insurance won't pay out on as its field sound so to cite insurance is extremely judgemental unless you know the full details of...
Friend has just trained to fit and sell them, tested them on her own horse and seemed to rate them highly and is now dragging them round the western shows to demonstrate.
Spring Feather, I've asked to work with the horse in my own time, I asked if I could do 20 minutes a day before evening stables as he has little concept of pressure and release and I feel that would make him a lot more manoeuvrable but I was told no and that he would grow out of it which in time...
Thanks, I will see where we get tomorrow. He does a fairly good rock impression as in blanks you, won't move or react but keeps trying to grab you/head collar/door and I reckon I could do the hokey kokey before he twigged he needed to stop! The lads are decent and I was impressed when one was...
He only comes out for exercise, he doesn't turn out. Hr behaves once out of the stable. Complete sod to tack up but once a jockey is on board he is fine. I don't want to debate the life style of a racehorse, its not great, gelding and turnout is the real cure, I'd just like to be a bit safer in...
Will call horse G for ease. G is a 2 yr old racehorse, stunning colt, out of the box your granny could gallop him and he is a lovely lad.
Inside the box he is the biggest *%*# ever! He won't move from the door, bites over the door, eats his head collar. Once you get past him and have the head...
Does he have a wide or narrow mouth? Thick or thin tongue? Does he prefer a nut cracker, lozenge , straight bar , link or ported mouthpiece? Also how old is he and what does he do to show his displeasure?
Lots of questions but i do enjoy bit problems :-).
I have found one to enjoy a rubber...
Mix the new bedding with dry wood pellets, helps absorb the wet. I use shavings and pellet mix, I mix the pellets only where that horse tends to wet and get a nice neat clump out once a week.
